I moved the washer for the first 3 Metzlers with no adverse effects. I thought I'd try it this time without moving it 'cause I kept dropping the %#$@ washer. It fits just fine.

I bought my gen 2 in January. Can't imagine putting anyone on that postage stamp called a backseat. Full coverage on the 2009 plus liability on the 99 costs me ~200/year so insurance isn't too bad. Love the bike but would like to smack the engineer who didn't think a bigger gas tank was...

Hi Scratch. I just joined the site too. I have a 99 that I bought new in 2000 and just got a 2009 that I bought used last January. It only had 800 miles on it. I know, I couldn't believe it either. Anyway, there was no way I could part with the original so needless to say my garage is very happy.

Feels like Summer's here in So Cal. Took the liner out of my jacket and was still burning up. I think it was ~89. I'm not ready for it yet.
