    Engine miss

    2001, stock, cobra pipes. Just started a miss at about 5500 RPM and goes away instantly when you hit 7000. It's very similar to the miss when you didn't see the low fuel light came on. Do I have a fuel problem? Or? Thanks in advance.

    That is exactly what it it doing, running for about 10 seconds and cutting out again, thanks. Do you know where about to start looking for the fuel pump relay?

    Damn good question. I thought it's like every other bike I've owned, reserve is the very bottom part of the tank. It makes sense that that water and crap have settled there and that's why it doesn't want to run when you go to Res. If you read my post under "Motor" and "Hard to start cold"...

    Last couple of rides when the low fuel light would come, engine would start to cut out, go to reserve. No problem, for maybe 20 seconds, engine would start to cut out again. Recycle reserve switch, runs good, cuts out again. Nursed to next gas station. Any ideas?

    Lately when starting for the first time over night the engine just cranks and cranks ans cranks and..............Zero pop, choke no help. If it even warm it instantly fires up. 2001, 6K. New plugs?

    I used DOT 5. I have a pneumatic brake bleeder, I sucked everything out with that. So DOT 5 is not a higher temp boiling point? $4.00 for a quart of DOT 3, $15.00 a pint of DOT 5, what am I paying for besides the purple color?

    Thanks Sean, the fluid looked like caramel, I changed it to Dot 5. Found the reservoir cap cracked from one side to the center, does anyone think that might have had something to do with it?

    Not a Vmax part per say, but looking for an off/on rocker type switch I can mount on the handle bars. I'd like to operate the fan over ride from my left hand, not down by the ignition switch. Anyone know who makes switches like that? Thanks.
