You go from the black wire to test the four wires not the orange one.

Jon did you check the coil voltage and you should clip off a 1/4 inch on both ends of your spark plug wires, also check your wires for corrosion.

I've got 147.5 mains in my vmax1200 all the other jets are factory and the max runs like a raped ape.

Did you check your grounds and stated coil plug?

Hi my 89 vmax 1200 is getting a weak spark on all the plugs the pickup coils have good reading and the spark plug coils and wires are all ohms okay and at 1000 rpms it's putting out 14.15 volts but I'm still getting weak yellow spark and not good blue spark.
