    Steering head spanner wrench?

Yes. According to the Clymer manual you seat the bearings by first torquing to 38 ft.-lb. Then loosen completely and re-tighten only to 26.5IN.-LB. I suspect a lot of the ham-fisted, overtorqued steering head bearings pics I see are attempts to cure some sort of wobble, etc. All that really...

    Steering head spanner wrench?

I use this on various bikes. Cost me around $30, if I recall correctly.

Ran it up to 115mph, and ...

Shuriken's pics of bearing races show they, particularly the lower outer race, are totally shot. Maybe due to someone in the past trying to cure a wobble by over torquing? Anyway, wobble issues aren't going away until bearings are replaced.

    Motorycle For Sale 2005 V MAX 20th Anniversary Edition -- $4500

I really do like the Ohlins. Had them sprung for my 180 pounds with full gear and they handle really well. Prior shocks were 11 inch Chinese no name chrome shocks and they pretty well ruined whatever handling is available on a Vmax to begin with.

    Motorycle For Sale 2005 V MAX 20th Anniversary Edition -- $4500

Beautiful bike with 20th anniversary emblem, factory flames paint job on fake tank top, and seat stitch flames. Aftermarket rear shocks

Not sure if the Arashi have only rebound damping adjustment or both compression and rebound damping adjustments like the Ohlins.

What kind of aftermarket rear shocks are you running?

My '05 came with no name Chinese 11 inch center to center rear shocks. Really bad idea. Handling was awful. Front wheel wanted to flop over at parking lot speeds, had to fight the bars to hold a line in a curve, and steering was very slow at speed. So, Ohlins 13 inch center to center rears...

    Delkevic Slip Ons

Best I can do for now. Back surgery two weeks ago. so probably another week or two before I can haul the heavy bikes out of the garage.

    Delkevic Slip Ons

Yeah, Delkevic seems to be high quality stuff at a nice price. I have a full 4 into 1 system on my 1982 Kawasaki KZ1100 that took me less than an hour to install.

    Back seat rack

Here's a Hepco & Becker bolt on rear rack on my 2005. Also a pick of the H & B bags I have on the bike. Unfortunately H & B does not make bag brackets for the Vmax. So I fabbed my own to fit these bags I had on another bike.

Steering Head Bearings Replaced and Wobble Gone

Your summary is accurate. Roller & ball bearings are never replaced piecemeal. Always inner and outer races, roller/ball cages and roller/balls are all replaced. Anything else just mixes warn and new parts with unpredictable but likely bad results.

    Should I?

My 2005 had 44K on it when I bought it. Runs fantastically. Perfect carburation all through the rpm range from idle to red line, no 2nd or other gear issues. Did have to rebuild leaking forks and brake calipers, though. Luckily those parts are relatively cheap. Love the bike. Gtista

    RABACONDA TIRE CHANGER

Just used this thing to demount old and mount new tires on my 2005 Vmax. Made a nasty job pretty easy, even for a first time user. My usual bike shop for tire swaps, etc., has shut down and next nearest is many miles away. So, invested in this. Very much not cheap. But given what each tire...
