    Buying a 1st gen with mods. Need opinions on price.

    seems high to me.....I paid $2200 for mine last year. now mine ran ok but still needed some love. It does look clean and well maintained. Mods usually don't add much to the value of the bike. But that being said vmax are rare and its only money right?

    radiator cover inserts......can u remove them

    So i bought a used set of used radiator side side covers. Can U remover the inserts below the reflector? My original ones were silver and my replacements are black. I would like to change them back to silver. The parts diagram shows it as a separate part. Is it glued in? Can I remove them...

    my coolant temp gauge is int inop. If i thump the gauge it will spring back to life. The temp sensor is on the right side under the scoop and plastic cover. its a single wire on the bottom of the housing. If you ground it with the power on it should go full hot.

    stripped or broken screws are never easy. Sometimes they come out sometimes not. Usually they corrode around the threads and that makes it tough to remove. Make sure you keep lots of pressure on the screw to let the drill or extractor bite into the screw. I have also had luck with a small cold...

    I have used easy out tools similar to this with success.. Drill in reverse with one side then flip it over to use the extractor...

    Requesting a few pictures of the speedometer with rear cover removed

    no problem. i installed a big tach and removed the speedometer. it was sitting in a box. If you plan on replacing it you loose nothing by dissisembling your old one. This is how we figure out how things work.
