I have a 1985 Vmax that I want to sell. I rode it for three years but it has been sitting the last two summers in my basement due to an electrical/charging problem I didn't have time to fix and it is presently not running. Anyone have a general idea of its value as it is? Thx.

Hatter, I'm not sure of the brand slipon exhaust I have (it was a fleabay special), but it uses the stock downpipes - but now come to think of it, I bought this bike with a 4-2-1 Holeshot on it...hmmm, hope the PO didn't cut the tabs off.:ummm:

I have an 85 max that lacks the center stand, and there is a new center stand from a 2001 on ebay for 50.00. Does anyone know if that year will fit my 85, and is 50.00 too expensive? Thanks.

I'm a little confused with this sync tool - after you balance 1 & 2 (using left front carb as base carb), do you put the two hoses on the 3 & 4 carb manifold? Or do you leave one hose on the base carb and hook the other hose to each successive manifold port? And when balancing 1 & 2 with 3 & 4...

As per my first comment in this thread, I did ride 10 or so miles after I noticed gas leaking under the bike, and the bike ran really crappy the whole 10 miles home. Could I have been pumping gas into a cylinder whose plug was fouled and so not burning the gas but just filling up the intake...

Sorry about asking so many questions, but I do appreciate all the help from the forum. I just removed the carb assembly from the bike, and as I look into the ports of the VBoost(?) which each flow into the cylinder heads, the number two port and the number three port both have gas standing in...

So just went outside to look at the max, which is sitting under a cover, hasn't been run today. Gas is steady dripping from somewhere and I can see it dripping down into a pan under the bike. So I removed the air box and held the throttle open and pushed each slide out of the way. Looking down...
