I'm about to do the same, what did you use to strip the paint? I don't fancy sanding it all before powder coating! Paint stripper?

Thanks! It is the air crossover tube, realised when I managed to get the dust cap off! How do I remove it? I guess it's just a case of undoing the hex nuts on the inside edges of the fork? Does welding it shut make a difference even without the spring upgrades? Sorry for all the daft...

Next question from me I'm afraid! On my '85 max the front for has what looks like a wire tensioner at the top of the front fork... Anyone know what this is for and how to remove it to get the front fork off?! :ummm: Cheers, James
