I have the the Tour Masters now. They grip WAY better than the Dunlop's but on the down side the rear is wearing quickly. I will be lucky to 3k out of it. Front looking new still.
Has anyone tried the Dunlop Elite II. Heard of people getting 20K out of the rear on Goldwings even towing...
OK here is the Whelen Tail light install on my 2001.
We all know what the bike looks stock.
So I removed the stock reflector and mounting plate. Drilled the required holes.
This is the light.
And the mounting to the plate.
Wires in shrink tubing and the support brace...
Close. That one is a Strobe warning light.

I'm going a different route. I bought a LED Taillight from Whelen. Picked up the 500 series light. Plan is to mount it where the reflector at the back of the seat is. Light is flash programable for those that like the flash warning when braking.
I will post up some pictures of the install as...
I'm stuck with the 10% ethenol blend in the stations here. (unless I drive 15 miles out of town) Now according to the "experts" the premium fuels have a less % of ethenol per gallon. I do stick to them for that reason.

OK I have a question since it has been mentioned here. This is my first V Max I have owned, ridden many but this one is mine. I have to switch to reserve @ the 95 to 100 mark consistantly. I do have a carb issue that is currently being worked on via carb cleaning and air fuel mixture chassis...
Hello All,
I finally pulled the trigger and bought a 1st gen V Max. I first rode one in 1989 and loved it then but never seemed to get things right to buy one for myself.
I am the owner of a 2001 Carbon Fiber edition.
Looking foward to many miles on her.
