    Alternator Brush Replacement

Thank you... I realize that I really need to learn how to work on my bike myself... I did replace the header pipes on it without removing the rest of the exhaust system... Took me three tries and destroying a bunch of those brittle gaskets...but I finally got it... Lol... 🙂

    Alternator Brush Replacement

Good advise... My own fault for listening to a knucklehead who didn't have a clue... I don't have that monster manual anymore, but I'm sure that I can get another one easy enough... On the positive side, this situation is forcing me to learn the mechanics of my bike and how to do repairs...

    Alternator Brush Replacement

So my battery not recharging has nothing to do with those brushes... Great... What a royal waste of time... I'm getting seriously sick of this BS... I can't get my bike fixed because the only shop near me decided to turn into A-Holes and not to do repairs on bikes older than 15 years... I...

    Alternator Brush Replacement

Yup, they are #5... Yes, they look like the #5 brushes on the starter motor... As you can tell, I'm a noob at my bike's electrical system... My battery wasn't recharging properly, so I installed a new battery and it still wasn't recharging properly... I was then informed that these brushes...

    Vmax running issue

The V-boost switch mod shouldn't have anything to do with it... Sounds like one of your four carbs has a valve catching at a certain point...or blockage on one or more of your fuel lines... There is a fuel line block under your carbs that can get gummed up and needs to be wire reemed every...

    Cranks but not starting

Sounds like the fuel line block under the carbs got gummed up and is cutting off your fuel... You have to remove the carbs to get to it and then clean out the four block lines with the right sized wire reemer... Pain in the arse job, but needs to be done every once in a while to keep the fuel...

    Putting on Silencer Gaskets

    Putting on Silencer Gaskets

Figured it out...so thought I'd share the solution... The pipe ends had a small flared out lip that you couldn't see but you could feel it... That edge was cutting into and destroying the the gsskets... I gound and sanded the edges to a smooth tapered in...put windex on the end of the pipe as...

    Exhaust: Delkevik Crush Gaskets

I'm trying to replace the front exhaust pipes with the Delkevik OEMs and can't get the rear connection gaskets (silencer gaskets) on the ends of the pipes without them breaking apart... Any tips on how to get those on or point me to a less brittle gasket would be greatly appreciated...

    Attempting to replace front pipes...

I bought the Delkevik OEM front pipes to replace the old ones on my 2000... I've never done this before...but going to do this myself because I want to learn... The old ones came off easy with the mufflers still in place...and cleaned out the old gaskets... My questions... The Delkevic...

I will post pics tomorrow...and couldn't get the video to play... I was taking a closer look and seems like the covers have an aluminum strap accrossed them...and the side ribs are an aluminum colored paint... The stock clutch cover trim seems to be aluminum like the valve cover trim...
