Thanks wildweasel for the info. Which one do you recommend? I'm a little concerned with the plastic version because in the USA, our gas is a little different (higher alcohol content) which can cause expansion issues of the plastic if the original designer did not account for the issue...

Extended overnighters with the VMax will be regulated to late-spring/summer trips only. I have another bike for long-distance and colder weather riding. Just trying to see some options on mounting a bad or two on the back. Accessories for the Vmax is quite scarce in the US.

Can anyone speak of the quality level of that gas tank listed on that website? Having a slight larger tank would really be awesome....I'll take the slight weight penalty for the extended range.

I'm looking for do some multi-day rides with my VMax, something more along the lines of a weekender (2-3 days) type of thing. Can anyone share some of your touring setups? I could use some inspiration on setups. Thanks.

Hi from Southern California Hi all- New member and a new VMax owner as of a couple weekends ago now. Picked up a 14' VMax leftover for a killer price. Always wanted one ever since they came out. Snapped a pic of the Max in front of Yamaha America Corporate HQ in my home town of Cypress, CA.
