    Exhaust Slip ons

This bike is addicting with the "rip" part. So tempting to crack the throttle too much on a leisurely cruise. OOps, dropped the ball yesterday with the audio. It was an all-day rain yesterday and when it didn't rain, I was MIA with the daughter. It's just hard being me and busy enjoying...

    Exhaust Slip ons

I'll do it tomorrow, started it up but haven't run it all winter. Going out for a ride now and give this thing some exercise. Not idling good

Sure, I'll put one together today. Sounds better in person but I'll see if my phone video is acceptable for representation.

I do know that the OEM pipes were too quiet, I couldn't hear the motor in the wind to shift right. The tach should be up higher with the speedo. The bike is safer now also and cars can hear it coming. Finally, it sounds also like it performs now. Don't like being the neighborhood pariah but...

Thanks, never thought about those and would hold better than screws. One of my initial concerns was to make the pipes look like they haven't been messed with, so rivets were more in order.

I ran a test on spacer thickness with the five 7/16" holes. 1/4" was a little bit too much uncorked for me and needed some more backpressure. A dime drilled out took some of the idol tone down vs a penny with good back pressure. For me, the penny thickness dialed it in. Awesome idol and high...

    Heavily modified V-Max bike video

Cool video of some radical builds. Maybe some of you know these people and bikes.

    Exhaust Slip ons

Mine are drilled now with five 7/16" holes and drilled pennies as spacers. I have heard many bikes in my life but not the V-Max except in videos. That said, I can't imagine it could sound any better with any other kind of exhaust. When I started it up for the first time, I was so happy and...

    1st Gen V-Max My 2003 Vmax 1200

Actually, I don't remember the wattage but the seller stated it was an H4 halogen sealed beam headlamp. It came with the bucket as a complete package.

    1st Gen V-Max My 2003 Vmax 1200

Haven't been around for a while and post but I do follow the emails I get for recent posts. I should do an update to report. I have been super busy lately but did some things when I had time. Haven't ridden it much to speak of but do start it up weekly or sometimes biweekly at worst. The...

I'm with you there and never ride at night period. I just care about having daytime running lights for safety

    1st Gen V-Max My 2003 Vmax 1200

I do know one thing, I like it better than the alien looking one that came with the bike. That was a little too much for me personally.

    1st Gen V-Max My 2003 Vmax 1200

Worth consideration and thank you for the input. I haven't looked around but it would be cool to have red striped tires I have seen on some cars back in the day. Probably not available

any cool low profile mirrors for the vmax???

You could get mirrors that adjust to put them as low or high as desired. I can see everything with these mirrors and my body doesn't get in the way because they are out far enough. These have an integrated turn signal built in to clean up the front end and kill 2 birds with one stone. You...

    Old school headlight conversion mod

Well, she looks better than the stupid light for an example. Maybe I can apply this technology to the motor and make it look like a Gen 2?
