Why does a 240 tire on a Gen 2 negatively affect the power output versus the stock 200 tire if they are very similar in diameter?? Have seen multiple cases where the bike put out less rwh with a 240 and am not understanding why?

Ok V-max gurus- I just picked up a set of 2000 forks for my 85, and need to know if there is a way to determine whether the existing springs in them are factory, or progressive. Is there a way to tell visually, or maybe measure the coil thickness to figure it out for sure? Thanks, Stan:ummm:
