I tried using Broward Motor Sports and regetted it. I would like to find a local vmax mechanic. any recommendations?

Little far from Lauderdale, but, Joe Raulf @ Boxenstopp in Daytona is top notch .He's a Max specialist.

I am at Under Pressure now. He finally got from the dealer my H2O pump gasket so the engine will be done tomorrow. You need to go see Steve. He will fix your stocker or build a bike like the thumb pics I included. Also just received word another member posted my COP's to me today. Feeling better.

I also just received some 38 mm Keihein CR's for my FZR1000 & am getting a used full exhaust, aftermarket.

Captian kyle!!! Tampa bay area. I don't know him but from the sounds of it he's good.he puts on the tech days.. Just bought 05 front end from him

Hey Bro,
Is under pressure still around. I tried their number but I don't get any dial tone ..... I'm looking for a mechanic in broward county too!

I pass their place of business every night, you can see into the shop overhead door if you are on I-595 East, and take the I-95 South exit. Right in-front of Ft. Lauderdale International airport, (FLL) as you go under the sign for Miami, look to your right across the RR tracks, and you will be looking into their shop. Yes, they are still there. Steve doesn't answer the phone much-=past 5 pm and he usually opens about 9 am. M-F only. They have been hitting Countyline Raceway in Miami-Dade Co.(1/8 mi track) since the weather is a bit cooler. They also hit West Palm Beach Dragway (1/4 mi) and at one time or another have had track records at each, as-well as others. I try to get in there at least once a week after work, on my VMax, of-course! Be sure and tell the proprietor, Steve, you heard from me that he loves to work on VMaxes!

That engine was for a deep-pockets owner who wanted a top-line engine, big everywhere. They are UFO carbs on it now not stockers & yes, it has NoS (that pic is kitted stockers w/NoS). He can do whatever you want, bring $$$ if you want something like that. My other friend Mike is the machinist who does his work. I am very satisfied w/the work. Before I spent the Big Bux I would just save for a Gen II. He can tune your Gen I to run just-fine.

Here are a couple pics of my bike's innards being massaged by him. My bike has a Dynojet Stage 7 kit, he went-thru the carbs and did an undercut tranny, measured crank & conn rod clearances, and assembled the heads after Mike did the machine work. Essentially, Steve took two engines w/different 'issues' and gave me one good one.

is the nitros set upon carbs and is that a stage 7 kit ?

Thanks Fire-Medic. I'll check them out soon and mention your name!

SHIT very nice do you think you could runs that NOS set up on a standard bike and i take it you have no vboost as if you want boost is NOS

No, sorry, that setup isn't my bike, it's another customer's bike. Sure, you can run NOS on a stock bike, but be careful of the 'hit' you install, because without restraint, you could cost yourself reliability. Look in the recent thread about the Stage 7 installs to see what stuff I have, which is essentially a stock bore-stroke w/upgrades for ignition, carburation, gearbox (undercut), exhaust, and clutch.

Sean has a lot of experience w/the power-adders too, moderation is required on a stocker. Big doses of NOS require $$ mods to make it live. I am not a pro mechanic, only a hobbyist.

Just tell Steve it's his 'hanger-on' who can't let-go of his elderly VMax, he'll know who you mean. I am 'hanging-onto' my VMax until something else expensive happens, and then maybe I'll think-about a more-modern bike. Since I've had this-one for 20 years, I don't expect that to be any-time soon, anyways. And there are the parts-bikes, waiting to donate something.
