Got a visit from a guy who knew about me from another acquaintance,
he was helping his friend who owns this 95 max. He was racing his Son apparently and it went bang.
The guy pulled the head thinking it was minimal damage but soon realized it's far more sinister. Looks like the big end journal gave way allowing the rod to now travel further smashing the piston into the valves, breaking the rod, cracking the cylinder liner into the jacket. In other words the engine is complete toast.
The rest of the bike is in good condition with everything complete and no damage etc.
I got it for 1500 (nzd) and wasn't really prepared to pay any more considering it will need the motor replacing.
I don't think I'll keep it though, my apprentice at work is dead keen and I think I'll let him purchase it and I'll help him rebuild it.
