As y'all know, I had a 1999 max that I spruced up (with Kyle's help) and then sold it. While sitting here looking at pictures of her, I decided to throw together a little video of the transformation.

She was sharp! I know the guy that bought her loves her so that's good to know. I put a LOT of time into that bike but I enjoyed the process.

Great job! Mine is also a 99...in due time I'd like to a little "makeover" too.

A few question on windshield - it looks great!
What size is that?
Where did you obtain it...and cost.
Do you find it's effective for touring?

I'm in the market for one as well but unsure what to get...I'd like something low profile but if it's ineffective then i won't even bother.

Here's the windscreen info : http://www.giviusa.com/my-motorcycle/yamaha/v-max-1200-88-07/a123-airstar-windshield-detail

It helps, but if you want something great you have to go with one of the "CHiPs" style windscreens, lol.

I have a Givi Astars 123 which is just a little bigger than a stock Yamaha fly screen and it works ok for shorter trips 1-3 days in length. I went for a 3 week trip to Newfoundland behind a 20"x20"(I think it was 20" wide) Givi touring windshield and it was so much better for long stints in the saddle. It was hot for local rides in full sun/ warm temps but it was awesome for windy and rainy days.
