Has anybody on here figured out what to do with the blank spot on the center console? It bugs me, and I'd like to put something cool or useful there. Thanks

A member recently converted the blank port to a indicator for when his manually switched fan is running,
Here's what Likembikem noted: "I used the '6th dummy indicator' I installed a lens and have that for my manual fan switch on indicator."

I do have some blue colored lenses that can be installed but it's not an easy task. I don't know what Yamaha's intent ever was?

Probably to make things symmetrical?

Not that it would be useful, but as a vanity display, you could rig-up a microswitch to illuminate when the butterflies opened past the point where the VBoost came-on. It could be labelled as the "Hang-On Tight" light. Like the Beach Boys song. "Faster, faster!"

I like that idea! I could name it "HTFO" which also is what my license plate says.

A monitor to come on when the charging system tanks would be useful to me. That way I could get off the road on battery instead of getting stuck in a dangerous place like the passing lane.

I have sold some kits in the past. Though the indicator was different. See pics. Cost is going to be $125 if I have enough of the sending units on hand. Would be the sending unit, mid gear gasket, indicator, connector, and pins (so you can extend the wiring).

The bracket holding the indicator was made by the customer and not something I provide currently.

That indicator will work just fine. You need the right switch to ground out when you are in the selected gear. The switches are what's normally hard to come by from the gen 2 ventures

There we go! Thanks Sean for your research/knowledge on that detail keeping anyone considering this mod from wasting time on a cheap shortcut.
