Hey folks, I've been lurking for a while and figured it's time to introduce myself.

I've been riding on and off for about 13 years-

1982 Honda CB900

1983 CB1100

1985 or '6 Shadow 1100

2000ish Suzuki Bandit 1200

Late 1990s Virago 1100...

and now a 1995 Vmax. Had 14,000 odd miles on it when I got it on March 31st. Very good condition, $2800, which I thought was a great deal.

I've just resumed working as a motorcycle messenger/courier, which I did a few years ago. I'm based in LA but I cover most of Southern California. I put a lot of miles on- around 4000 since I got the bike. I think I'll shoot for the vmax mileage record. I'm curious whether there are any other (past or present) couriers here on the board.

Love the bike- my favorite I've owned yet. Need to mod a few things- horn, frame braces, maybe an R1 fork eventually, windscreen. But it's a ton of fun as is. I love schooling the crotch rocket riders, which I'm sure must be a common pastime among Vmax riders.

Well, I supposed I've rambled enough for now. See you around the board, and maybe on the road...

(Many LA/SoCal riders on here?)

I'm assuming that CB1100 is an "F" model? Relatively rare for a Honda, and desireable as a collectible for those who like the early superbikes. Came in blue and in red I think. Back in those days, I had a Honda 750F which I sold & bought a friend's KZ1000 after getting beat on an I-95 on-ramp in south FL by a Porsche while riding two-up w/my g.f. Then I had a string of KZ1000's before buying my '87 FZR1000 in '88 & my '92 VMax in '93.

Your bike looks pretty-clean.

Wow, I've had several of those or similar bikes, all bought new.

1977 Honda CB750F in black
1982 Yamaha 920 Virago in black
1983 Honda CB1100F in red.
2004 Suzuki Bandit in dark metallic blue
and a 1995 Max in red. (You got a great deal on yours if no problems).

That is out of the 30 motorcycles I have owned since 1958....

Yes, I failed to include the "F" on both the CB900 and the CB1100. My 1100 was red and white. Didn't have it for very long, unfortunately. I bought it on eBay, flew from LA to Illinois, hopped on, rode back to Los Angeles, and then maybe 10 days later I had a semi cut me off while making a wide right turn in front of me without signaling. I liked the bike while I had it though.

That's pretty wild!

My brother in law had a black '78 CB750F that I borrowed for a few months at one point.

And my Virago 1100 was black.

The Bandit was metallic beige-ish, and naked, which I liked the look of a lot better than with the fairing.

I guess when you've had 30 bikes, you're likely to have some in common with most people who've had a few. But the similarities, especially down to the colors, are unexpected for sure.
