Hello, I recently just bought and installed rear LED turn signals that have red running lights & brake lights built into them. My question is, can I legally run just those without my factory tailight? I also have the rear LED brake light that replaces the red reflector in the back above the rear fender. Here's a few pictures of what they look like. Please let me know. Thanks, Jamie.

I would like to totally remove my tailight/liscense plate mount.

I was going to say yes, but you have to run DOT approved lighting if you are worried about getting stopped.
As long as you have any DOT approved brake light and tail light either separate or in combination at the rear it should be OK.
I would definitely have running lights at the rear for safety. Those don't need to be DOT.
Mine are huge semi-truck dual face running lights converted to LED. Amber forward, red to the rear.

How will you illuminate your license plate?

I would think with the running lights built into the signals and the reflector replaced with a LED, you are covered with the exception of the license plate lighting.

You definitely need to light up the plate to be legal. I use a pair of LED "Tag Bolts" Plenty of different options out there. Fairly inexpensive too. I bought mine from custom dynamics. Check this link and scroll all the way down the page.

I've seen those in chrome, but your link led me to a nice set in black on their website:

Thanks!

This is what I ended up doing to the rear of my vmax. I really like how it turned out, the lights are much brighter than the factory ones.
