Ok
So I know I screwed the pooch on getting this to work last time but....
When first you dont succeed, try try try try try again.

Here are some pics.
Got it all sorted out, just need to get it installed and guess what????
Our OEM fuel sender for the light and the pump will STILL WORK.

I am going to leave you in the dark for a bit to build some suspense.:biglaugh:
I have my charity ride to finish up next week so it should be week after next sometime.

Remember though this only gives how much fuel level is in the tank.
Just because we have a 4 gal tank doesnt mean that every 1/4 tank will be one gallon. Might be close but with shape of tank it will be different.

Oh yeah you can see to that the sender is not a float so it wont slosh around.

Looks like a class 2 mod monkey award should be given! Are you gonna share the details after its sorted?

Of course I will share all the details.
right now it was just thrown together to see if it was even feasible and it is. :eusa_dance::eusa_dance:

You're not going thru the fuel cap are you? That would just be 2 much hassle all the time. So I guess u're gonna mod the tank and make a hole for this new sender...

I love the idea of it!

nope, not going through the fuel cap.
Not much of a mod to the tank
Just a few holes and bolts, thats it :biglaugh:

Darn you sneaky G, you tricked me into giving out my secret early :rofl_200:

Thats really cool Fargo,
I`m glad we are only an hours ride from each other.
I can`t wait to fit this into my bike as it will eliminate a nuesance.
and at least we`ll have a better idea of how much fuel we have in the tanks.
The console on my max is going to look like a fighter jet, I love it.:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

Hey Fargo, thats cool idea.

I was wondering about using this kind of sensor:

http://www.gillsensors.co.uk/content/RSeries.htm

But not easy to grab one in PL.

I think it works as "inductive" or "capacity" sensor.
You're mesuring the reference voltage with this guage, huh?

Im still fabricating my new gas tank, not an easy job i must say.

Keep it up and try to make a kit fo selling.
Good work.

Hey Prezmeck, I know I murdered your name sorry
Anyways, it is similar to that sender except it reads impeadance and does not put out a voltage. Reason being is the gauges are few and far in between for that type sender. The one I have reads 33ohms when full, 240 omhs empty and there are a gazzilion aftermarket gauges for it. Enough to suit anyone's taste.

I am not going to put it out as a kit, dont have the time or inclination. The parts are easily obtained and takes basic wiring skills. Little mod to the bottom of the seat and some drilling into the tank for the sender and bolts.
Just wanted to share with my fellow Vmax Brothers.
I am still concentrating on the Charity Ride this weekend so after that I will put up a full write up with pics.
Cheers

No hard feelings with the name, I realize its very dificult.
One of the most dificult names in PL.
Im using the shortcut, full is: Przemyslaw
"RZ" letter simply does not exist in english language.

In mine koso speedo theres a bulit in fuel gauge and it has selectable fuel sender resistance range. Up to 100 Ohm and 540 Ohm for Honda's.
Sensors with reference voltage or current can be useed as well but, with a special emulating circut.
I use to do that evryday in mine curent work.
Massuring the voltage by reading current or resistance, or swaped in other posibilities.

I have inside-tank high pressure fuel pump with bulit in fuel sender form cbr600 i bealive.
Im gonna use this with fuel pressure regulator.
Im not sure how much pressure stock carbs will handle.
But i can use this setup in future, eventually with EFI.

Just dont have enough time to finish this.
Im aiming for 20 litre tank.

Thanks for sharing, im sure this will be the great help for many folks.
Too bad there will be no kit, not evryone can handle that kind of work.
Maybe Sean will be intrested?

I will help those that need help but honestly it isnt that hard.
I am hoping that with my write up it will be pretty straight forward.
Plus if the parts were hard to find I would think about putting a kit together and I will help point people in the right direction.
As far as the gauges there are too many for me to put together one kit that would suit everyone's taste.
For instance for those that want to keep the bike stock just put one on the handle bars.
For those that have a tach up top, with a little finese one could put it in the dash. That part I would be willing to help with.

On a separate note, how do you like your Koso unit???
Which one do you have???
Do you have any pics???
I am thinking about getting one for the fuel injected bike I just picked up.
I like it the looks, just wanted to get some ideas about it.

Oh yeah, would you be interested in making another fuel tank if it is not too much of a problem???
Cheers

Most hard thingy to do here is drilling the tank.
Must be removed, then dried, then clean from chips.
No problem for me or you or for some people...

I like it a lot. Its cool looking, accurate, small, universal and It has fuel gauge.
You must get used with very bright blue lighting at dark and little dalay with displaing
the curent speed. All digital speedos have that kind of delay.

I have this one.

Here the movie with me playing with the fuel gauge:

I would be intrested in your EFI work as I plan to start working with efi myself.
I have already almost ready TB's. Dont have the linkage yet.
I quit the project temporaly.

No problem bro with making the second tank.
Just give me some time for some testings with the tank.
No rush here, huh?

Cheers

Hey Prezmek
No rush on the tank.
Any thing I can do to help with the EFI I am more than willing
I am STILL waiting on Gary to help with the trigger but dont think that is going to happen. I will do it on my own.

I am thinking about getting the RX/2N GP style, 10k rpm. I want to have my rpm indication up top.

Let me know what you need for the EFI when you pick it back up

Hey
Thanks, im sure we can figure out somethig together.

I have mine own idea for crank triggering but first i need to buy costly ECU which not gonna happen soon...

First i need to finish mine tank.
Maybe you have an idea how much pressure stock fuel pump gives?
I know its preatty low pressure but good to know exactly.

Speaking the tank.
You wanna bigger tank or just stock tank with bulit in FP with fuel level sender?
If you wanna bigger one You need to figure out where you will relocate the battery.
Bigger tank by battery relocation is the only good idea. I hear about notching
the tank at the fender area but this way, the tire can hit the tank.
Nothing easy with this bike.

What if you had a extended swingarm (3" or 6") would it be easier to go towards the tire then or will that not work? Just throwing out ideas.
