What's is this black box spliced into the harness? Also what is the black box with thefactory connector on it. The yellow wire off off the vonnector is cut. Just bought this max and have no idea what the previous owners did. It has a led brake light but not turn signals. Thanks Dan

Not sure what the "this side down" box is. The other appears to be a flasher relay and the "this side down" box appears to be part of the lighting circuit too.

Does your tail light have integrated signals?

X2, the small one looks like a universal relay like the one that might be used on a horn or driving lights.

If there are any numbers on that other box you could try and google them and see anything comes back. It almost looks like an aftermarket TCI but hard to see on the phone. It looks like Radio Shack threw up in there:punk:

That bigger box looks like an Ignitek TCI, its hard to tell without a better pic of the harness. If it is thats a good thing. I just put one in my Venture and it looks an aweful lot like that.

Here is a closer pic

Th little one is a Bosch style relay but I think I was wrong about the big one. If one goes to the coil maybe its a rev limiter or aftermarket vboost control. I tried searching it out to no avail but ill bet someone else will recognize it.

EDIT: I think that bigger one is an alarm/GPS tracker with some sort of tilt sensor.

I agree with the GPS, Alarm, Kill switch theory. I took it all off and sodered the foctory wires back together. Dont know who put it on the bike, but was not a very clean job. Thanks for the help Dan
