I have a 2004 max and would like to change the headlight to a 7 inch round to fit a small fairing I have has anyone done this conversion if so What is needed and where can I get the parts

Not sure? Post up the fairing you want to use? I have a large headlight conversion around here I removed from a bike a few years ago but I think it's a lot bigger then 7" even.

Read this whole thing, several options: http://www.vmaxforum.net/showthread.php?t=29953&highlight=emgo

I suggest you do not use the the non-rubber-gasketed, single screw headlamp mounting 'ears.' Get the rubber-insert ones for 43 mm downtubes, which use two screws to affix each bracket to the downtube. Why? Because the non-rubber donut brackets will transfer vibrations to the bulb filament, making it oscillate like a struck tuning fork, greatly shortening its life. And the single-screw won't hold things as-tightly as the double-screw mount.

Can't get much cheaper than this! $40 black, $47 chrome. Keep a good coat of wax on it if you get the chrome. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/emgo-side-mount-cafe-headlight#overview_tab You will need to source the mounting brackets, remember 43 mm, double bolt mount, and rubber inserts. I suppose you could use a rigid mount bracket if you had a big rubber donut between the bracket and the headlamp bucket, but you might find that the bucket shifts position over time, if you don't have the bracket tightened sufficiently.

This doesn't appear to have the rubber insert, so your bulb longevity may suffer, but they look good and are the correct 43 mm size: https://www.amazon.com/Speedmotoco-...rd_wg=YsXn2&psc=1&refRID=VCCHWJBZVC458V8DYNXR
