For you that are still riding through the winter, just a note for you to beware of deer (at all times of the year). There have many deer and foxes run across the road near me recently. If you hit one while riding, that will mess you up.
Don't push it with your speed, especially during dark hours. Reaction options at high speed are extremely limited.

Good advice, They can dart out in front of you without warning. I've had luck with hitting my horn in short and multiple blast. They trend to stop, perk their head up and look to see where it's coming from,when I do it. Try it next time you see one on the side of the road.
 
I noticed that I never even see deer when i'm riding my '82 shovelhead with drag pipes, and I live in the boonies.Probably the right combination of loudness and slowness LOL
