Do you have to remove the front ign coils to test the secondary resistance,or can you remove the plug cap and test them through the HT lead.

Hello all There is any chance to find a vmax fuel sender with changing resistance ? I need 0 – 90 ohms – and not interested to drill a holes in the tank… the idea is to replace the stock one in the same position and hole I know that’s is long shout…... but still – in this forum...

Correct me if im wrong..but I know I read here..somewhere..that resistance measured through plug wire to any good ground On bike should be 18.5 k ohms.? I checked mine and i get 21k on rears..and 23.3 on front two. Does this mean something in particular? Or am I whack? Thanks.

hi, My rear ignition coils resistance are 3.5 and 3.6 ohm. the manual says it is supposed to be 2.7 +/- 10%. I have no idea if that is bad, ok, or good. Is that ok? should I be worried.? oh btw, the resistance on the secondary are according to spec at 13k ohm. Thanks regards,

Long story short, I washed and waxed up my Vmax for storage last fall. I tried to start it to move it, and it would not start, wet plugs from old rubber on spark plugs. Plus I found a cap on its way out. So fast forward to today when Im replacing the caps, plugs and doing other preseason...

I'm getting readings from 8.66k ohms to 9.25k ohms for the plug wires. Any one know what's acceptable? I've read aprox. 1000 ohms per foot and these are about a foot. Original 7 year old wires I believe and I have some new ones on order. Thanks,Mike

What kind of paint/coat can be used for the engine? I was thinking that I'd powder coat it. But will the powder coat be able to sustain the repetitive heat ups and cool downs of the engine? I'm especially worried around the exhaust ports where it is going to get VERY hot.

how do i check the primary and secondary ignition coil resistance? :ummm: have reading from red and orange wire into coil, but is this primary winding? if so, my measurements are same on all coils but don't match any specs in the manual...

Every single set of cope I have from denso it reading 1.3 ohms...Ive read countless times of everyone getting 1.8 with there densos so why does everyone I test come up 1.3??????

The manual states stator resistance between each leg is .42 ohms +/- 15% which would give .48 as the high end at 20deg. celsius(68). My stator is measuring .7 ohms cold and .8 ohms when hot(measured at 75 deg.) Does this mean the stator is bad? What symptoms occur when the resistance gets too...
