Hi. I took the rear tire off my bike. Getting new tire put on. Reading manu. It says to use a lithium based grease. Is there another alternative from local auto parts store. Marin grade? And how much to I put on?

From the way you phrase the question it sounds like you don't have any?
Possibly a daft question but why don't you buy some?
It's readily available e.g. Home Depot for $7.98

Pretty amazing, today's economy. A member in the UK can inform a USA member where in a store convenient to the USA member, where to find a product, and how-much it currently costs.

When I was a young adult, to do something like that, I'd have to write to a company, overseas, or to a USA branch, if they had one, and await a response about product availability, and price. That would involve the cost of airmail, and the delay for the response to arrive.

Here's my search for a UK supplier of the product:
https://paintman.co.uk/shop/castrol-moly-grease/8.45 pounds UK including value-added-tax
Of course, you can order it electronically, or use a bricks & mortar location.

That took about a minute to search and type. Amazing times in which we live.
