New bike and new member.

I finally got a V Max! Always wanted one and the right deal came along and I couldn't pass it up. I have painted it and fixed some minor things and it is a great bike. It sounds much better after the exhaust mod.

I'm guessing you're on the short side? The front forks are pulled w-a-y up in the top triple tree. I bet your sidestand is keeping the bike nearly vertical. What is the center-to-center measurement of the rear shocks when fully-extended? Stock is 13" and those look like Progressive Suspension rear shocks.

I just bought it about three weeks ago. The prior owner replaced the rear shocks and the front forks were like this. I am still tweaking things.

If you're 5' 10" or more, try putting the downtubes flush with the top of the top triple tree. Before you do this, try running through some curves at speed to see how it handles, and then make the change, and return to the same roads, and try it with the downtubes like I suggested. See which one you prefer.
