Use of Kawasaki ZX14 Masters Brake & Clutch

Wow...Fred, quite a story on your 2 bikes. You left me speechless. I hate you with those "teaser pics"..ha, ha, ha. Ok..pages 8 (ZX14 masters) and 24 (new masters as above). As I understand, the ZX14 masters are 14mm same as Vmax OEM masters so they should work with my stock calipers...

Use of Kawasaki ZX14 Masters Brake & Clutch

Thanks, Garret. Just PM Diablotin. Satariel666...saw your candy red beauty...NICE. As a matter of fact, I am planning to order the same scoops and maybe a belly pan myself from Exactrep. Soon. I also noticed the masters in your red beauty...are those from a ZX14 ? I searched your posts...

Use of Kawasaki ZX14 Masters Brake & Clutch

I think someone mentioned that he uses ZX14 master cylinders (Brake & Clutch) on his Vmax. I understand the ZX14 masters are manufactured by Nissin. Need a bit more info. 1. Will the OEM '98 Vmax brake/clutch lines fit the masters by just plug and playing ? 2. Will all ZX14 years fit (7/8"...

    Clutch/Brake Reservoirs & Levers Kit

Read somewhere here that Kawasaki ZX14 clutch and brake masters fit the Vmax up to 2006. Is this correct. What ZX14 years ? Do the brake and clutch lines fit directly to these masters ? What size are the MC pistons, 14mm ? Will the clutch pick up too far away? Pulling the brake...

    Clutch/Brake Reservoirs & Levers Kit

My '98 Vmax clutch & Bracke reservoirs leak or sweat even though I installed new gaskets. The paint is almost gone and I would like to install something new but don't want to go back to OEM. I've seen sets similar to the picture below but they seem to only fit second gen Vmax. They leak and...

    Nology Hot Wires

RaWarrior: I sent a private message last night regarding the sticks and the harness. Please let me know if you got the message. Al :ummm:

    Nology Hot Wires

I think my plug boots are ok, although the rubber around them are pretty shot. I have never changed the wire only. Do you just pull the wire and it will come off, as well as the other end ?

    Nology Hot Wires

I am planning to replace my spark plug wires. Thinking about buying OEM or maybe get a set like the Nology Hot Wires. Somebody is selling me a set of used Nology wires for the price of the new OEM (about $60 I think). A new set of Nology hot wires goes for $125 or so. Basically, I need...

Protecting Fork Tubes & Best Brake Pads

Thanks, One2dVmax (Morley). Sent you a message. Interested in the fork protectors. :ummm:

Protecting Fork Tubes & Best Brake Pads

Mmmm...too much money for me (either anodizing or nitride coating). Seems like the WD40 might work. I'm on a tight budget now and need to buy a couple of things at Exactrep in December. To further protect the fork tubes (uppers), how about installing those covers that were introduced in the...

Protecting Fork Tubes & Best Brake Pads

Have a 1998 Vmax and live in the tropics. A. Is there anything that I can install or apply to the fork tubes to protect them against dirt or rust or both? I know there are some weird wrap-around protectors but they do not look good (my taste). Options are: 1. I am tempted to...

    New vmax owner headshake

Isn't this cured by switching to progressive springs + fork brace. Use of a frame brace was also mentioned elsewhere.

    About Burnouts with a Vmax

Mike is right. The question was really intended to the final drive gears. Thought to have read that the material that made the gears and shaft were both equal but it may sound reasonable to think that it would be better to break the shaft before damaging the gears. From what I read here, if...

    About Burnouts with a Vmax

Not that I am desperate to do a burnout with my '98 Vmax as I still have a lot of thread in my rear tire, but the question is basically if there may be the possibility of damaging the gears. In a regular chain drive bike, what gives at a certain break point is the chain, no fuzz. In a shaft...

At What Temperature does the Fan Kick in ?

How about the "Outlaw Radiator Fan Switch Kit" for $65.00. Anyone has tried this one? It looks pretty much simple by replacing the temperatur sensor to a unit that is set to kick on the fan at 20 degrees lower than stock. So it says in their website. :ummm:

    Cracking Noise from Exhaust

Thank you, Fellows I numbered the spark plugs when pulling them out so I would know the condition of each cylinder and how it was running. Yes, it is like a spitting sound from the mufflers. All comments make sense. Will check the mix and filters, next step. Probably replace the spark...

At What Temperature does the Fan Kick in ?

That's precisely my point. It gets itchy once you see the needle climb. I remember that a good friend of mine very knowledgeable about Yamaha motorcycles and Vmaxes accompanied me to check the bike before buying it. He let the bike idle to check if the fans would kick in and ...they did. I am...
