    Air Box???

I'm thinking the Morley Muscle kit....however, I am going to leave it alone for a bit. I am building this bike almost from the ground up. It has not been on the road in almost 10 years and its almost ready to ride. I will mess with it later. Thanks all!!! And, I am scared!! I have been...

    Dies at 5500 rpm

Any ideas about the unburned fuel smell at idle? Will lowering the main jet have an effect on this?? Thanks for all the help!!!

    Dies at 5500 rpm

OK....after changing one part at a time here is what I found. They Keyster Carb kits are crap. The jet block gasket is so rubbery and thick that the jet block cannot ceat properly. Changed it and the bike still ran bad. Finally changed the needle jet (the one the needle slides in) and hello...

    Still problems at 5500 rpm!!!!

Changed the Keyster gaskets last weekend. They were all messed up....I don't think the jet block could have possibly been seated correctly with those crappy gaskets. Got everything back together.....Now it won't run off of idle at all....I am about to send the bike on a long trip off a...

    Still problems at 5500 rpm!!!!

Again, I am a retard, what will shimming the needles tell me? If it helps does that mean the needle jet is not to specs? How much should I shim them to start? Thanks.

    Vboost or not

So, better mileage with V-boost always open??? My v-boost control box is not working. I am thinking of just putting a toggle switch in to open and close the v-boost manually. Really don't want to spend the cash on a new control unit. Obviously they need to be closed for sync, but how do...

    Still problems at 5500 rpm!!!!

Cool...I will start with changing the jet block gasket back to OEM and checking the needle jet. I really want to do one change at a time but I am getting real tired of removing and installing the carbs. Getting pretty quick though!!!! Thanks for the reply. Just for clarification cuz I...

    Still problems at 5500 rpm!!!!

Mains changed to 147.5 today. Still stumbles badly at 5500 rpm. Low end power is awesome and after about 8 seconds of stumbling, I am able to nurse it into the higher rpms then...hold on!!! 115 mph when I shut it down (got scared and ran out of room). V-boost is still disconnected and in the...

    No vboost

Just curious. How is your mileage when the v-boost is always open??

    COP Question

What is the best COP to use?? There a bunch on ebay from different types of bikes. Is one bike more compatible than another? Thanks in advance.

    Dies at 5500 rpm

I think my last question got lost in the mix. Is there any danger of being to lean with the 147.5 main jets. I ride between the elevations of 6000 and sea level. Thanks in advance. This forum is great. :punk:

Is there any danger of being to lean with the 147.5 main jets? The areas I generally ride have many elevation changes from 6,000 to sea level. Thanks in advance.

Got it!! I will do some wrenching this weekend and see if I can make it run better. It has been in the low 90's here for three days. I am dying to get on that bike.

Thanks. After reading some posts here, I learned I am a retard in thinking that opening the exhaust will lean the bike slightly. I was thinking backwards. I will put the stock jets back in and test it. I am at an elevation of 2,500. Do you think the 150's would be better. Mark, I am sure this...
