    Hi everyone!

Agreed. Very very rare for a head gasket failure on these bikes. An over rev is more likely to wipe out a rod bearing or small end then a head gasket.

Drag racing questions for Gen 1 vmax

The higher the octane the more resitance to detonation and thus the slower the burn and flame front. You will LOSE power and performance if you use more octane then is needed to prevent detonation. Unburnt or slowly burnt fuel will just gum/carbon up the system. There are some race fuels (like...

    Front fork cap

If your dealer can't get one or is back ordered I may have some around here.

    Throttle cable block

You want to feel a little slack in them at the throttle. I would start by getting a LOT of slack then start taking it up a little at a time and see where it starts to bind.

    Throttle cable block

Did you check the cable adjustment? The junction also seems to like the orientation of the splices with the slots facing outward. If we're talking about gen 1's that is.

    Flakes in oil

You can run the oil for a bit and then send it to blackstone labs for a analysis. They will let you know where the most likely part(s) is that the debris is coming from.

    No vmax choppers?

That is Pierre Desjardines bike. We helped him with many parts on both of his builds as I am sure others have done too. Both of the Vmax's in his garage are very nice.

    Faux Tank Cover

1985-2007 will interchange. Only colors changed through the years (2003/2004 had the factory stripe package)

Bad sounding engine. Big end gone?

What exhaust is on the bike? The stock front pipes are double walled and have been known to break the inner pipe loose from the outer which can make a pretty bad racket.

    Supercharger kit?

I am not sure what will and won't swap but from what I can see zero between the Mad Max setup will interchange with the Magnacharger setup.

    Back seat rack

Not sure but off the top of my head/guesstimate would be 12"x14"?

Float set, 28.5mm suggested so what would 30 mm act like?

Each 1mm you are off takes an approx jet size change to compensate.

    Supercharger kit?

The hardest part is getting the cast intake. Or you have to fabricate your own. Plus get all the other parts custom machined out. Not an easy task

    1st Gen V-Max My bike

Usually best to email me at [email protected] You may need to adjust the a/f mix screws to get the off idle hesitation. if it's while cruising then adjust the needles. An example of the brake kit:

Yamaha Letter of Certification for Importation to Canada

Many years ago a friend did that for his 85. I think the 90's was cleared to do that without any issues but not sure what the specifics are to do it.

    Towing with a dolly

As was mentioned there is a direct oiling injection to the rear output bearing system. Others have towed without running the bike but I would not do it personally. And, even with it running you run the risk or starving the engine for oil depending on the angle it's at since the oil will go back...

Blown oil pick up oring symptoms

I think you can get the transfer tubing removed enough to get the oring swapped out. But, it's only 3 bolts to get the pump off the block so you can clean out the screen and have it ready to go back in.
