    Stage 7 needles

I did swap them around. other ones work perfectly in #2 and the original #2 sticks wherever I put it. I can't see anything wrong with the needle itself and doesn't appear bent. (but the tip is really small). I've loosened up the white slide screw and I can change the way it sticks by doing so...

    Stage 7 needles

It's definitely the needle or how it sits in the slide. Slide by itself works great. Dale

    Dyno'd the bike today.

Installed above bike runs great. Smoother than it's been in awhile but I also fixed a slightly sticking slide at the same time. I need to run through a few tanks of gas before I comment on mileage. Dale

    Stage 7 needles

Thanks guys. Yeah the little teat is properly seated. (that was the 1st thing I checked!) I don't know how the needle would be bent but I'll check it. Damon & Danny,I have it on the 3rd clip but I'll check what you guys are saying as well. I never would have thought about bottoming on that...

    Stage 7 needles

Carb gurus: why would a stage 7 needle start causing a slide to stick? Situation: #2 carb slide sticking. Remove the needle its good. Put the needle back it sticks (white screw loose needle floats freely in the slide). Move the whole thing to another carb it sticks there too. Tried another...

    Need UFO 4-2 advice.

Slashcuts? Replace the packing with a ceramic type will lower it a bit but will likely still be louder than what you're looking for. I put a set of speak easy in mine as well. Again lowered it a bit but tough to tune as well. I ended up ditching mine. Dale

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

That plug looks good to me. I'm currently at 152.5s and 3rd clip. Running pretty good there. I think I may play with open vboost just cause! Dale

    Voodoo speakeasy

I put a set in some ufo slash cuts. Along with a repack it cut the sound down. Still loud though. And a bit finicky to dial in. I went back to my hmf cans so that tells you something.... Dale

How did you measure A/F driving around town? That's great mileage. I'm struggling with that as I used to get 40mpg with stock needles/ 170 mains. Now with set up above I'm down to 30mpg. But the bike is a lot faster! Sorry to vary from orig poster but all this is great info. Dale

    1997 sitting for 6 years

ebay seller is battery_specialist. Ships from Burlington ON. A UB12220 was $66.00 can plus $15 ship. This battery fits and works well but the connections are not same as stock. You have to mount cables sideways rather than the top. Dale

    carbs

I'm at 800 ft. Morley kit, full exhaust 152.5 mains stage 7 on 3.5 clip. I still get occasional pop back through carbs at 3000 rpm and it's hot out. A/F 2.5 to 4.5 turns out. it's so close.....but I think I'm going to be lean as soon as temp drops. I may have to go to 155s and drop a clip on the...

Can exh packing effect jetting requirements?

Get the mains right first then worry about needles then A/F screws. The mains even overlap the lower circuits to a degree. Dale
