Nice looking 89. Looks like it has one of my seats on it. Might even have one of our jet kits on it (look to see if it has a large flat filter when you take the faux lid off). It just needs our busa brake upgrade!

It's a direct drive oil pump. I can't imagine what you may have going on other then the oring which you've already verified as good. And as long as the teeth on all the various drive gears are good.

Small screws is common. You could use a custom bracket to that clamps around it. Or, even a bracket to clamp to the handlebar. Pictured was what we used with our GPS Speedo setup we offer. And then a bracket someone else used.

If a new clutch and it's still slipping it is highly likely you have loose rivets holding the inner basket together. Very common issue on the gen 2 engines. No amount of other clutch parts will fix that.
