    09 vmax sputtering

Unfortunately with the PCV, you need to have a good STARTING point, to know where to go. The pcv deals with percentage of fuel. 1%.......2%......etc. If your not using an autotune or having it on the dyno at the time, its strictly a guess, as to what the A/F readings are, or what the throttle...

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Glad that I could help. Me personally I have the 90/130 bulb that Sean sells, (although now Sean sells the 100/140) low/high beam. Its a simple swap, and Ive had mine since 2014 with no issues.

Clutch "pumps up" and begins to slip when hot only.

I'm glad that you got everything fixed and that it was a simple solution. Just posting up my issue that I had that wasnt so simple of solution....tohelp others as a possible cause. My 07 had the same issues for years...and it would only happen after a couple of hours of riding. It wasn't fluid...

    Gurue ECU?

See if you can work out a deal....like 200 of 250 for an hour. That way you have time to make changes and see where you want to go. Last time with the Gen 2, I used an autotune. Had it set with the A/F numbers that I wanted. Ran it 5 times, and looked at the data, and made the adjustments. Did 5...

    Maximum power from stock engine?

I was told by Tim Nash that the stock Gen 2 engine will take a 40 HP shot with no other modifications. His ECU reflash does take out a couple of degrees of timing, which is good for the Nitrous set up.

Pushing choke on shuts off while running

These are CV carbs....constant velocity carbs. They get RICHER the hotter they get. So, as the bike warms up, the carbs get richer( and the enrichener/choke is already making the bike run rich) and the RPM drop due to being too rich.

    Intake Scoops

The only advantage to running individual filter pods is LOSING midrange torque. Running the K&N filter in the top of the airbox (which is what Sean Morley sells....AKA One2dmax.....the muscle jet kit. ) you keep the velocity stacks that are in the airbox, so you keep your midrange torque.

    Gas Octane

If your running a different ECU (Dynajet or ignitech.....with different timing requirement) 87 octane runs WELL in a gen 1. Read the owners manual.....its designed to run on 87 octane. Have you thought that you got bad gas? Now, that being said....the pilot jets on the Vmax carbs are VERY...

    Dannymax carb rebuild!

Danny sync's them, when he puts them on his test engine. Now that being said, that is on his test engine, and they are shipped thru the mail. I sync'd mine after I got my carbs back, but they were almost spot on.

    Bike cutting out a little

The pilot jets (which are cleared when you do a shotgun), are the carb circuits that are being used when you take off, and are just running around town. The main jets do supply fuel everywhere, but dont really come into play (full use) until 7000 rpm and up. When was the last time the carbs...

I posted a link (hyperlink) to the procedure. On the site, it explains what PAJ#2 is (Primary air jet.....#2), and there are pics to walk you thru everything.

    Back brake locking up

You can go with the organic green pads, they are the recommended pads for the rear. Also, when was the fluid changed? If there is a build up of water, the fluid will boil faster under heavy use and lock up. Is the Rotor straight and true? Have the brake lines been changed? Steel braided lines...
