Tell that the guys running the Stage 7 configuration… Enjoy the Hindle.

    Exhaust advice 4 into 1

A lot of folks recommend this procedure to "fully open" the Vboost butterflies, but the problem is that it can be hit or miss. You really have no way of knowing whether they are truly fully open or not. This method I use might be just a bit more trouble, but you know what you have when you're...

1st Gen V-Max This is max, found him alone, scared, and pretty bad off.

Lol. Sounds like he found his way to a good home. You came to the right place. Welcome..

    Carb synch issue

Sometimes there’s a little slop in the linkage. Are you blipping the throttle between adjustments to ensure that it settles back down?

Kyle's Monkey bike? Needs to be finished.

Make him an offer he can't refuse! You will never regret it.

    Clutch dragging

I’ve seen worse that didn’t drag. If that is the cause of dragging, I would imagine that scuffing those sharp edges might prevent the plates from hanging. Certainly couldn’t hurt to try, beats buying another basket.

    My 3rd Vmax Build

I forgot to ask – which forks are those? I see the R1 calipers, are the forks also R1?

    My 3rd Vmax Build

Very nice result. At first I was skeptical. Lots of people are very quick to throw the term "build" around with regards to tinkering on classic motorcycles. Bolt a couple of off-the-shelf parts onto it and call it a build. You definitely earned the right on this one!

Kyle's Monkey bike? Needs to be finished.

One of my favorite exotic Hondas is the NS400R. A two-stroke <400cc V3 that pumped out 120 hp! Honda’s Biggest 2-stroke

Kyle's Monkey bike? Needs to be finished.

It does other things to your body when you’re the one twisting the throttle…

Kyle's Monkey bike? Needs to be finished.

Well, we are straying just a bit from Kyle’s monkey bike monster, but since we’re on the topic of six cylinder songs, and having enjoyed one of the beasts over the last few years, I thought it might be interesting for folks to listen to this. In my fairly extensive motorcycling experience over...

Kyle's Monkey bike? Needs to be finished.

There was mostly definitely a Honda 350 4-cylinder. It is true that the 350 twin was more popular, but that 350-4 is now highly sought after.

Kyle's Monkey bike? Needs to be finished.

Holy schidt! I hadn’t seen this thing. That is crazy. I would definitely ride that. Get that thing running and post videos.

    Next year ....

Me too. I was actually able to extend my off-road fun when my boys were young by running quads. Great fun - but no more single track! We had two Blasters and I rode an 05 660 Raptor. I was a sore engineer every Monday morning. Riding a quad hard is not much (if any) easier on the body than a...

    No Power at High RPM

Sure sounds like clutch to me. Pretty common and easy to address.

Intermittent Neutral & Check Engine Light while idling

Uhh, I am no Gen 2 expert, but I've dealt with CIL issues for years. If it's throwing a code 42 that relates to a speed sensor, then I would surmise it has a speed sensor signal issue. Seems like that would b a good place to start. Not sure how it would be associated with a problem with the...

    Engine stumble

I'll try again. If you have gone through carburetion and ignition and are confident both are ship shape, with a motor that built, I would highly suspect something amiss with your compression. Check it.

    74 Kawasaki $100 I will not buy it....No!! I will not.....

As Fire-Medic has pointed out, they’re Comstars from Honda. Introduced in 78 and pretty much done after 83 (reverse Comstars). Goldwings, Silverwings, CBX and many others came with them. Early aluminum spoked ones on the Goldwing were susceptible to cracks and were recalled.

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Nothing Yet, but will be giving it a deep clean later this afternoon. I haven’t been riding it, but it still got dirty. How are you ask? Well… Rats in the shop! I hate f’ing rats. Went for years never had one out there. Made the mistake of storing some of the scratch grain that I feed the...
