Dang Sean. Go ahead, bust my bubble. For years I have been swearing to myself that the frame braces made a difference. This is the second bike I’ve had them on that the placebo effect must’ve gotten to me. But they dang sure do look good!

Heavy as hell. I sure wouldn't want to have the front end up on it. My Hack Z1300 is a beast. Same motor but with fuel injection. (Did I mention it was heavy?)

Well, all I can say is that as tight as you are about spending on projects, you should probably let it go. To do anything meaningful with it will cost some coin.

Whew. Nice recovery. I've been able to hammer small dents out that have no creases, but luckily I haven't had a shotput-sized one. Glad it worked out.

Charging and carbs? No problem. 2nd gear? Meh. Not really worth the trouble - unless it was a pristine '85. (to me).

Yeah, I suspect a diode with a current limiting resistor might be a better choice.

I suspect that for a quick and dirty ignition trigger check, linearity is not really a concern. All you’re looking at for is a blinking light. Intensity of that light is irrelevant.

So with all this chatter about cracked coils, transistors and igniter testing, do you have fire in the hole on that dream V4 yet or not? The suspense is killing me.

I would drag it out of the weeds, hose it down and hold out for $500. 300 is too low.
