My cousin, Les and wife Arlene

My cousin Les was a corporate pilot living on Big Pine Key, Florida. I haven't been down in a while but when I did we went diving and buzzing the reefs in his plane. He had a Yamaha Venture and later a Soft Tail. His wife Arlene was a nurse and sold real estate. They were hit very hard by...

Refinish gen 1 carbon fiber look pieces

I also have the carbon fiber (I know not real). Tank (I know not real) was nice and shiny, both fenders were very dull. Nothing helped. I got some wrap, but had no luck. Tried several times same thing. I replaced both fenders with Tyco (?) and all is fine now. They were not that expensive, been...

Picked up my FJR Gen1 ABS today

Had an '05. Probably the only bike I have ever owned that I am glad is gone. Battery location, fuse location, general lack of grease in all places it should be. On some rare occasions when all the plastic was removed I could see the engine, but worried when a plastic part would snap going back...

    Friends Ultralight crash

Thanks for your condolences. He was a good guy and a Navy submarine vet. When he got the tiny aircraft, I must say I was a little jealous; thinking I may be too cautious. I don't know what happened. Witnesses say the little engine was screaming, but altitude was not increasing. He was returning...

    Friends Ultralight crash

A friend and co-worker; Mike Nelms, got ultralight certified and bought a 'Skycycle' about 2 months ago. Sunday he hit a power line attempting to get to the airfield at his home. Wind and or warm weather may have caused it to not climb like he tried. He deployed the emergency chute but was too...

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Thank goodness NOTHING! Instead of the Vmax, wife and I went on the FJR along backroads to Lynchburg, Tn. About 35 miles from home. Going about 45 and taking it real easy (wife of board) a very large deer jumped out of a creek bed and impacted my front wheel with about 1/2 second notice. I...

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Wow; didn't think of that. Now I know and next time it won't be so bad. I should have asked first, thanks

Why does it blink like this?!

One thing that screws up the whole cirucuit is the incandesent turn indicator lamp. Since there is only one indicator, it is wired in with both signals. Current flows oposite directions through it depending on which signal you use. I believe it uses the filament of the other side as a path to...

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Pulled the drive shaft and greased the splines. I read on FJR forum that they were bad about lack of lube, and sure enough my FJR shaft was dry. I replaced the rear brake pads on the Vmax, so I thought I should check the shaft splines. I figured it was basically the same drive system. Turned out...

    The Joke thread!

This guy was telling a friend of his," When my wife and I have ***, it's boring; same position, same time, same old thing...boring. His friend said "You need to spice things up a little, next time your having ***, roll her over and stick it in the other hole" The first guy said, "No, I don't...
