    Vboost Delete pros/cons?

I suppose it depends on how you intend to run the bike. If you only intend to run the bike at or near full throttle then V Boost probably offers little benefit but if you want to (significantly ) increase HP you will also need to spend large amounts of dosh. But if you intend to keep it on the...

    Fuel flow issue.

Would be worthwhile checking for free movement of the plungers Not sure if that is a reasonable test as I doubt that the degree of negative pressure will be that great. As suggested in my previous post a more reliable check would be to see how much fuel is being delivered.

    Fuel flow issue.

Can we assume you are using the choke; what happens if you open the throttle as you are turning the engine over? Can we assume that you don't have an alarm or immobiliser you haven't disabled? (Yes, I know, only an ***** would fall for that....OK, so I'm an *****! :() Take the fuel hose off...

Deciding which rear shocks to go with

First thing I'd consider is to have is to have a spring weight that is appropriate for my weight. Pre load adjustment is (IMO) essential and ideally will be threaded to allow fine tuning of sag. Damping adjustment is a nice to have but I suspect most of us have a play, don't notice much...

    Site slow

Site back to normal now, perhaps there was a kink in a cable somewhere slowing the electrons down?

    ‘89 fuel filter

No need to clamp the hoses, the only fuel that is likely to come out is from the filter. Some rag/ pater to catch any spillage is a good idea though. This shows the process.

Swapping european Ignitor to American one

The data was from the Haynes V Max manual. That's not something I can recall reading about so can't answer that. Only you can answer that question but IMO you need to ask yourself 'what will be the benefit?' I appreciate that you want your bike to be as close to a full power as possible but...

    gen 1 charging

Check the connector between the stator and main loom. Poor connection there can lead to burning. Provided the connectors are clean and tight there will be no issues but if burnt or over heated then replacement (IMO best solution) or soldering the wires will be required.

    General

Do you know exactly what was done when the carbs were re-built and if so can you give details? Can you confirm that the carbs have been synchronised and that the idle mixture screws are all set at a similar value (I'm assuming the tamper proof plugs have been removed?) You appear to have three...

V-Max Speed Wobble (ran it up to 115mph and...)

I'll let you decide. In the meantime I will continue to offer constructive comments on the issue.

Swapping european Ignitor to American one

    All havew the same advance at idle 3° '85 - '89 models 43° @ 9K '90 - 2003 UK models (restricted) 31° @9K '90 - 2003 US 49 state 33° @ 9K '90 - 2003 California 43° @ 9K I'd assume that all restricted models were the same spec. as the UK restricted? Not sure how much benefit you'd get with the...

Yes, you are correct to ask, I should have said most Japanese frames of that era and whose design go back even earlier. Once again, you are welcome to your opinion as I am to mine.

    Neutral light issue

You probably can provided you don't use a sledge hammer. Before you go down that route though, with the torx bit in the screw and on an extension give the end of the extension a few sharp raps with a hammer. Then use a T bar to apply torque, steadily increasing it. You will need to use your...

Swapping european Ignitor to American one

Can we assume that you have already added V Boost and modified or replaced the throttle slides? The attached should help you with identification. NB: Not sure if the 41R ICU is correct for the Max as this is the model code for the XVZ1200L Venture Royal. Anyone know if this was also fitted to...

What, you mean like all Japanese frames of that era?

V-Max Speed Wobble (ran it up to 115mph and...)

I am of the view that there is no single factor that gives rise to the symptoms that you describe so to allow any meaningful conclusion the variables must be recorded. A summary will be useful but in addition to detailing the work you have done together with the outcome then (IMO) it is...

My First Vmax - Kent UK

The standard swinging arm will accept a 5 1/2" x 17" Dymag (as seen on MM's bike) without modification but you need to do the washer swap. This is the basis on how I had my s/a braced. ...and on the bike and no, your eyes haven't gone funny, it's a crap photo! Also note that depending...

V-Max Speed Wobble (ran it up to 115mph and...)

Your efforts are commendable and deserve to bear fruit. I've come to this thread relatively late and given the number of posts it is difficult to keep tabs on what you have done so far and what was the result. I've attached what I hope is a fair summary on what's been tried over the years (and...

    rear brake caliper swap

I believe that a front right from a FZR400RR 3TJ is a straight swap. They may also have been fitted to the TDM850 FZR600 TRX850 but can't confirm that.
