Another man that missed out on the Maxgasser seat. Forward controls are cheap, dropping the forks in the triples is free, proper bearing play is critical and free. You might have mentioned you cannot get a very wide rear tire and a 15” is not helpful.

Are considering replacing your fuel sender unit ?

My backyard practically. Too high for me to consider but it seems like orices ste creeping up on bikes and cars/trucks.

Easier oil changes. Easier to source filters. I have never heard where the cartridge is any worse or smaller in filtration area over the spin on. If I had a choice, I take spin on unless you have some collector quality early model you want to keep stock.

I got what I believe to be a sturdy set of metric black impact thick wall set from Northern Tool. Very reasonable.

A used like new would go from $350 to $500. NOS $750. Prices based on what I have bought and sold stock black. I have not seen a set with zero edge damage in a year maybe two.

One of my most memorable Vmax blasts was against a Porsche 911 around the I 275 Bypass around Columbus OH. Prolonged speeds at 130 and full twist when things were straight. That was in 86 on my 85. Good times.

carb bits ? Are the covers carb bits or are there other parts ?

I’ve had a Muscle seat. Great service and product. No more Maxgasser available except on secondary market and those are hen’s teeth. If you see one for sale, you should snag it. It is completely new part and not a remanufactured part.
