You can raise the forks 1" in the triples and see how you like it. More than 1" and you risk hitting the radiator with the front fender when braking. The Progressive lower kit will give you MUCH better springs than the soft stock springs and allows up to 2" of lowering internally...

I weigh 185 lbs. and used 10 wt. fork fluid with my Progressive fork springs (no emulators) but I know a lot of the heavier guys used 15 wt. and like it.

Yep definitely let us know how it worked out. Dingy's Venture Max is the only other Vmax-ed Venture I've seen. His is Impressive for being a Venture. He even Dyno'd it at our Thunder in the Valley Dyno day a few years ago.

Not usually. The only stock air box mod that has been proven to help at all is shimming the Y up a bit. \With stock exhaust (or slip-ons) the stock air box with 150 (or possibly 147.5) Mikuni Main Jets can help though. My 2000is stock jetted with Supertrapps and my brothers friend removed the Y...

I hope it helps But in most cases altering the stock air box causes a stock jetted Vmax to run worse not better.
