Someone on FaceBook recently said they had a similar issue with shifting on a newer Gen 1 (a 2001 I think) with the updated shift segment and he said he had to remove the clutch cover and adjust the shift drum to fix it. So that may be worth looking into.

Exactly. I replaced my stock rubber vacuum caps a few years ago with some generic vacuum caps from Auto Zone with the OEM clamps on them and they worked great.

Zeus is dead on, Red Loctite is what is recommended for the starter clutch bolts in the Yamaha Service manual. Blue Loctite won't cut it for the starter clutch bolts.

Awesome Job Eric, I know you spent a LOT of time testing the various Ignitech settings and it's Great to see you share that knowledge with other Ignitech owners when needed. If I ever need a new TCI I'll most likely get the Ignitech and I will be emailing you for that info as soon as I do. :D
