Help installing V&H exhaust--how to orient the clamps for the rear cylinders?

    I didn't know V&H makes a 4-1. Are you sure it's not another pipe with a V&H muffler?

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

I did 210 miles today with my laptop in my backpack so I could stop and tune along the way. Still got a couple of rough spots to work out but, WOT is just right. 😲😀 Snapped a couple of photos......maybe some GoPro video tomorrow.

Help installing V&H exhaust--how to orient the clamps for the rear cylinders?

Did you have the Optimal installed with the stock mufflers and just want to change the look? The V&H looks nice I think, but it's not really an "upgrade" to the Optimal X-Pipe otherwise IMO.

Help installing V&H exhaust--how to orient the clamps for the rear cylinders?

Actually Eric now that I look at it again his photo is looking from the front.........so maybe not exactly right but hopefully my photo helps. They should both be the same angled toward the right rear of the bike so that you can access them more easily......that's the way I do it anyway.

Flip the one on the right over.....then spin the bolt head to the same orientation as the one on the left

10 new Gen 2 1700 Crate motors with ECU

Not a huge market because these engines don't break. There are a few of us that have forced induction installed so we may at sometime break ours, but so far so good. You might consider separating the ECU's from the engines, you would probably sell several of those.

    Baffle removal

Yes that was me, the mufflers did crack I believe from the exhaust pulses amplified in the empty chamber. Sounded cool while it lasted. The mufflers do have some quieting ability but do almost nothing with the cat in place. Very easy to prove just pull them of and you'll see the bike is still...

    Coolant in my oil?????

There was an oil pump recall on 2009 VMaxs. Some of the recalls were botched by the dealers and engines were damaged after being run. At least a couple I know of were bought back by the dealers, or "repaired" by the dealers and returned to the owners. The owners that really pushed hard back at...

    Coolant in my oil?????

Don't know what to tell you, I've never heard of that in over 10 very active years of ownership. At 7200 miles the engine is or should be like new. I know if it was me I'd be speaking to the dealership. What year is the bike?

    Baffle removal

As Traumahawk described there is no way to make the stock mufflers louder without removing the cat. If you are on a budget I would recommend this pipe V MAX V-MAX 1700 Exhaust Cat Eliminator DECAT 2009 -. It will work with the factory mufflers. It would be nice to have it ceramic coated in...

You are good, the recall was for some 2009 and 2010 bikes. Here are the recall instructions, they detail the routing.

These might be helpful to confirm your measurement. This is the wiring recall replacement harness that connects to the APS and TPS. The APS is the longer part of the harness.

I think you may need to toggle the run/stop switch to activate the stacks once you are in D:34
