My Vmax tipped over on me today :(

Like all Vmax's before it, the Gen II Vmax clutch is on the RIGHT side. That left side generator cover plate comes off w/o any gasket, and it has a rubber damper system bolted to it's backside.

    Differential '89 Vmax

There's a couple of them on Ebay. Here's one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/yamaha-vmax1200-98-OEM-DIFFERENTIAL-/301951395137?hash=item464db4a541:g:OfgAAOSwHQ9WYc1A&vxp=mtr Sean Morley might also have one to offer. [email protected]

    Sticky front forks??

Up/down skaking on the front end would indicate a bad front tire. If it still has tread, it might be worth a try to have it balanced. Your minor fork sticking problem could simply be the fork seal & dust cover fitting tightly enough to create some resistance short of being back up to the top.

    slight stumble under 2k

In what condition are your coasting enrichener diaphragms, and your main diaphragms? Any one of them may be deteriorating and contaminating your carb(s) too. How about the sealing edges of your air filter? Those also can disintegrate over time and enter through the tops of your carbs to...

    Ignition Coils

Missed this.....YES, I do still ride the 85, but it is now relegated to more of the to/from work routine, weather permitting, than it does any of my out of town riding. And the weather hasn't been too "permitting" of late. Jebediah Aloysious

Of course not - everyone knows - what goes on in Eureka Springs, stays in Eureka Springs. Julian

    Ignition Coils

Hey - now that I stop and think about it, I did get a longer than usual start up, at the carwash, just the other day, and the bike did cough & miss for a few seconds as I pulled away from the washbay. I wonder what could have caused that?:ummm: It cleaned up and ran 100% within a few seconds.

    Ignition Coils

Never an issue in the rain, or after washing for me & my 85.....but I do tend to ride a bit slower during the heavier downpours. Maybe Missouri water is just gentler than that acid rain chit you get everywhere else? :biglaugh:

    Ignition Coils

+1 My 85 had those weather cracks in it's coils many, many, many years ago, and it has never had any problems out of them.

    South central rally dates

MAGNIFICANT TIME - WEATHER - RIDES - COMPANY. Thank you everyone that came to the Eureka Springs rally. A lot of good memories were made again. I couldn't have asked for a better rally. It was great seeing all of you & sharing miles and smiles with everyone.

Dammit, wage protestors coming this way!

F'ck, I think we should skip the $15/hr rate hike they are protesting for, and go straight for the $100K/yr salaries for each of them. I mean, he!!, I knew I was wasting my time and money paying my own way through college for a better job. Why should the entitled new generation be required to...

    clutch lever

They get worn, and can cause hard shifting issues...not adjustable that I know of, unless it's simple come loose. It might also be as simple as having your idle speed set too high. For a smooth neutral to 1st gear shift, our Vmaxes like the idle to be close to 1000rpm. A faster idle of...
