Lived out in the boonies of Pa. growing up. Not too much happening there with music except working the farm and raising hell

    1st Gen V-Max My 2003 Vmax 1200

Here's the link for body parts, if anyone is interested. http://exactrep.com/acatalog/bodywork-p1.html I must have some older versions with some parts but it looks like the previous owner was mistaken about them coming from Germany. Have to give the credit to the Brits

Thank you Fire-medic for the info. I will check it out and I was wondering where it came from and you found it for me. Good advice too

    1st Gen V-Max My 2003 Vmax 1200

Ok, here goes. I purchased the bike this month and it has 78K miles on the clock. I will tell you what I know about it. The body kit came from Germany and it was painted locally. The seat was reupholstered with a gel layer added. The carbs and forks were recently cleaned and or rebuilt...

I apologize for not doing a registry yet, but I will work on it tomorrow with better pics.

New Vmax owner and loving it!

Thank you Onetwomany and I found it to be unique, so I took it home. The purists in the group may not agree with you but I think we can all agree that any Vmax has appeal to the eye. The tail section and solo seat work is what I like the best with this bike. I don;t think I will ever sell it.

New bike (2007) Header question, and shock question

What I have gathered in the past is that if the pipes are discoloring then they are getting too hot. This may be a sign that the bike it running too lean. It would be interesting to see what the spark plugs look like to support this, if they have some miles on them.

    Highest mileage on your Vmax.

My 2003 has 78K miles racked up. I don't know everything that's been done to the bike in the past but it runs strong with no issues.

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

I'll remember that Fire-medic, the next time the forks need to be serviced. Thanks for the tip! The manual recommended 14.2psi max, so it looks like I topped out on the pressure setting. Seems ok now after the ride and bumping it up made a big difference and it was significant.

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Went out again this evening for a joy ride to put the bike thru the paces and continue to get use to it. After basic maintenance when I purchased it I needed to replace the grips and added bar ends a couple of days ago. Really all it needed in the short run to finish. I did bump up the...

    2nd Gen. Vmax sighting

No 1's or 2's yet but my radar is out there. Saw a gen 2 at the bike shop when I was getting parts so they do exist locally. Kind of in the same category as a Rolex watch with wheels so I kicked the tire as I went back to the parts counter in the walk of shame. lol I saw a gen 1 on...

New Vmax owner and loving it!

Good to be here and great to finally own a Vmax. The bike has always been eye candy for me and now I get to finally ride one of my own. I have had bikes most of my life but sold my last bike about 5 years ago and got away from riding. It was a green Kawasaki ZRX 1100, so you can see why I may...
