I know cobra's have a bad name but really?

Not really a fair comparison being that they are two different bikes. Run a dyno test on the bike with stock set-up then switch to the Cobra's? I have seen Cobra's dyno around 112 RWHP

    idle aetting and co readings

BigJimi, You got that right "the reading will bounce around a lot" This is the same reason I'll use a average including the tenths. It drives me crazy to sit & wait for every little adjustment to settle down.

    idle aetting and co readings

Have you synced the carbs recently? If the ambient air temp is 70~75 & the humidity is around 60% I'll set my CO levels to an average of 2.75% for each carb with the idle & sync maintained @ 1100rpm. If the ambient air temp is a 75+ & humidity is 70~80+% I'll set my CO levels to an average of...

    Clutch problem

Take a good look as to how the clutch line is routed from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder. You want to make sure the line from where it bolts up @ the master is the highest point then has a gradual slope down-ward to the slave cylinder connection. Look for any point along the way where...

    Clutch noise?

What is the total mileage on the clutch basket? Generally once they reach about 20~25K the start to make the noise you are describing. This is very common (not to worry) as the friction disc reaction fingers wear notches into the outer basket.

    starter clutch

Well sounds like you have done all the right things related to the starter clutch install and the battery is fully charged. My question would be are you using synthetic type motor oil & if so what brand?

oil leak near left exhaust rear of engine

Aikidoka, Two of the three bolts at the top-rear of the crankcase closest to the rear cylinder bank have copper seal type washers due to they penetrate oil circuit passages. You might be able to re-torque them to see if they will seal. Another place to look is next to these same bolts are a...
