    Clutch dragging

Hi all. My new to me 99 gen 1 with 30k miles had a slipping clutch, so I took the cover off to take a look inside. Everything was stock. The friction plates are still in spec (barely) and I scrubbed the steel plates. Also did an oil change. Slipping stopped, but now it seems the clutch is...

    Mirror disassembly

😁 Didn't put anything covering the hole. It's only 5mm, stays partially behind the stem and the glue is white, so is barely noticeable.

    Mirror disassembly

Whatever's loose inside isn't metallic, it sounds like plastic or hard rubber, and seems somewhat big. Ended up drilling a 5mm hole in the back, near the stem support, and injected a glue, similar to silicone. It seems to be working for now :)

    Mirror disassembly

It doesn't vibrate, it's just the noise, like something is loose inside. The glass is firmly secure, and the inclination adjustment is tight. What could be making the noise? I presume that there aren't many parts inside the assembly.

    Mirror disassembly

Hi all, My right mirror makes a very annoying rattling sound. Took it out of the stem, and I can feel that there is something loose inside. Is there a way to disassemble the stock mirrors whiteout breaking the glass?

    Head cover gasket

Hi all, Looking at my 99 vmax 's cylinders head I can see a leak of what appears to be coolant with some oil. Is it a leak from the head gasket cover? If so, a few questions: - What parts should I get, beside the gasket itself? - This can be done without taking the engine of the frame...

    Debris inside mufflers

Used one today and couldn't see any rocks or sand inside. It looks in pretty good condition, without much corrosion, at least to my untrained eyes 🧐 I'll keep using the air compressor and a tube connected to my shop vac. Also, juggling the stock mufflers around is a good workout for my arms 😅...

    Debris inside mufflers

I'm pretty sure that there is no organic material inside the mufflers. This is how they where stored: And this is some of what's inside: I managed to get most of it out, but can still ear some rattling noises.

    Debris inside mufflers

The mufflers were stored with the intakes open, facing up, without any cover. That's why they are filled with crap... I haven't put them on the bike yet. I'll give it another go with compressed air. Should I be worried about any left over junk getting suck back into the engine?

    Debris inside mufflers

Hi all, I have a stock muffler that the previous owner stored in lousy conditions, with the intakes up, and it's filled with little rocks and grains of sand... I managed to get most of them out by juggling the mufflers and blowing with a compressor, but there are some still remaining, no matter...
