    '86 damper rod removal

Others might confirm, but think they changed it in '04 or '05 where the damper rod didn't have a hex head. Mark

Fuel coming out of air orifice carburetors… Please help

That's the main air jet. It seems like your float/float needle valve isn't working correctly. You can try tapping the back side (carefully) to see if that rectifies it. Otherwise, will need to split the rack and open it up to see what's going on.

Mikuni Large round n100.604 or small round n102.221 head main jets

Small round was the stock size on Mikuni BDS carbs on the VMX12. I've never seen large heads on a Vmax carb. https://www.jetsrus.com/a_jet_kit_street/yamaha_1200_VMAX.htm

    Balancer Shaft Alignment

That could be it. Mine has two dimple marks. One where yours is and on a same line and on the tooth groove.

    Balancer Shaft Alignment

The mark on the balancer shaft should be on the groove, not the tooth. The mark on the crankshaft is on the tooth. Cheers. Mark

    Coolant "Drain Cock" o-rings

There's one o-ring in there and can be had by itself. Part number 93210-14579-00. The other parts are the valve, a spring, and ball bearing. Mark

    Air Box hoses

That's just to drain any moisture from the air box. I've never seen a vmax with a hose on there. Not needed at all. Mark

Removed cylinder side cover, no coolant..

There are only a few fl oz's in there so probably not a huge difference. Probably could blow it out with air compressor through one of the main hoses but never tried that. To purge air, just run the bike for a few minutes with coolant cap on the coolant manifold off. Top off the fluid and wait...

Removed cylinder side cover, no coolant..

You need to thread a spark plug in the plug and pull before coolant comes out. Mark

    Race tech springs

Racetech is top notch for 1st gen VMX12's IMO. They can be tailored to your weight since they are straight rate and the gold valve emulators are adjustable. Mark

    86´ VALVE COVER REPLACEMENT

I'd definitely replace the washer/gaskets under each both....especially with age and mileage of the bike. I agree with Kyle on carbs and vboost. I also loosened radiator mounts and let it hang forward for better access to the front valve cover. Mark

    Valve adjustment - when?

The procedure is documented well in the service manual and Clymer. Damon F. also has an engine rebuild DVD and he goes through it there too. Here's a how-to on this site I just found: HOW TO: adjust your valves clearances pt2

    Steering head bearing spanner

You can have any machinist make you one. I used 7/8" pipe.

    V-Boost Cable part number ?

Yeah, noticed that as well! You might be able to find used from Sean Morley or Captain Kyle on this forum. Mark

    V-Boost Cable part number ?

    Yes, it's on fiche. https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/yamaha/motorcycle/2007/v-max-vmx12w1/intake

Who do you use for parts BESIDES Partzilla

Bike Bandit and Ron Ayers are solid. Checking here with Morley and Captain Kyle are options too.

    Oil Pipe O-Ring "bracket"

Make sure the 2 grommets on the main oil gallery and one on the main oil pipe are in good condition and the o-ring won't burp out. IMO of course. I think oil has an impact there...I use Shell Rotella-T in my '99 and my grommets were like new. O-ring was in place when doing transmission work. Mark

    plug wires

Agree with all above. I use SB05F NGK caps.
  19. maleko89

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

Hmm, not that I know of. Parts have same number for main oil gallery, o-rings, grommets, etc. To rectify, Morley's HD pump kit or finding the correct Kawasaki O-ring are the only ways I know about.
