Should I change my main Jet?

Mikuni didn't have a size 134. Either not a Mikuni jet or someone spent time drilling/modifying own jets? Mikuni goes in increments of 2.5 and so from 130 it goes to 132.5 to 135, etc. Mark

Radial tires on Gen 1 stock wheels

Last I looked (been a few years), agree with this. It was for a Tmax scooter and probably not well suited for the Vmax weight. Mark

Is there a "How To" for the displaced o-ring in the sump fix?

You can try a camera through drain hole, not sure (depending on size) if you can bend 90° and work way forward to that area? I think it would be easier to just test your oil pressure with a gauge by removing the main galley plug. Should be about 10 psi per 1000 rpm if memory serves. Mark

    Not running

If it only runs when pouring fuel directly in carb, sounds like ignition is ok but test. If good, time to go through the carbs.

    Clutch Problem - Vmax 1200 (1992)

First guess is your shift segment pin(s) dropped out preventing the shift. Does the clutch level feel normal and can you hear the clutch engage/disengage? How far did you tear into your clutch? If one or more of the pins are missing, will need to remove the entire clutch and other bits to...

Leaking thermostat? Need help with removal

If it's just to replace that o-ring, just remove the drain valve assembly.

Leaking thermostat? Need help with removal

You probably are looking at the Water Pump fiche. Check "Radiator Hose".

Leaking thermostat? Need help with removal

Yes, the water pump housing needs to be loosened in order to get that coolant elbow out. Might have to also loosen coolant drain valve to remove the small pipe going into the top of the thermostat housing. Then, just a long Allen bit on the two bolts holding the 'stat on.

How to remove the gas tank

Inner fender needs to come off, just one screw for that. Then remove the left side removable frame near the passenger peg. It's all pretty straightforward and pretty well documented in the Clymer manual. Mark

What did you do to your Vmax today? Part 2

I've been waiting for shift fork rods since last October. They were on back-order in Japan. I feel like the first time I got a Transformer at Christmas.

Engraved data on engine 2WE, 2003 (different year??).

The .96 is used to set the middle drive pinion gear shims. Once set, you use dial indicator to set the shims on the backside to set lash between drive gear and driven gear.

    Rebuild or engine swap?

No reason. So is there a remote oil filter somewhere on the bike already? My guess is someone broke/stripped the oil filter bolt/threads and just did the fix by using hose and clamp.

    Vmax cylinder drain plug 90338-11152-00

It's just a way to drain the coolant from the block. The drain bolt under the water pump doesn't get it all.
