    Help please! Rear Brake Adapter

@Fire-medic oh I know and really appreciate the hint! I got my '99 Max last Xmas from my lady as a present and I changed brake lines, pads and all liquids including the brake liquid (this is a MUST here anyway to keep legal standards). So I think thats all fine so far, I will keep looking...

    Help please! Rear Brake Adapter

@02GF74 thank you very much mate. I will look out within EC for exactly those calipers first. @Fire-medic my brake pads are "sinter" pads, so the best ones, harder than the standard ones. My idea was, if I have half useable rear brakes could support the subject and release front brakes a bit...

    Help please! Rear Brake Adapter

@Fire-medic many thanks for your reply. Riding a scoot or a bike are completely different worlds and yes, you are right, I rarely use the rear brake at all. After upgrading the rims, bearings and shocks rear and front plus the brake lines to SS type I am very happy with the handling of my...

    Help please! Rear Brake Adapter

I feel the urge to improve the rear brake and found out that a couple of Maxxers have mounted a R1 brake on the rear wheel. However, I found out that there is an adapter needed to get the R1 (or one of the original front) brakes on the rear wheel. Since I am located in EC, shipping might be a...

    Front caliper swap

Sorry to ask again. I have upgraded my '99 Max with 17" rims and Öhlins shocks - now that I have got the handling performance I was dreaming of, my brakes are showing fading on mountain pass roads. So I need to upgrade the brakes and look for the best possible (which is plug&play) upgrade and...

Pissed and venting - Non handicapped drivers parking in Handicapped spaces. Do you call them out or walk by?

Since my Mum is disabled heavily I have zero understanding and even less tolerance or understanding for people parking on a parking space for handicapped. I usually make pictures and call the police. Here (in Austria) the minimum fine for this attitude is usually 500$. Sometimes the car is...

Öhlins rear shocks STX 36 (YA 137)

I thought this thread might be of interest for some of you. During winter season I made some small mods on my wife`s Xmas present, followed precious advises of experienced pro's here and also European forums. So the rims were changed from the OEM rims into 17" PVM forged rims. Front shocks...

    Lithium battery

You could - if you want - get a working regulator from a FJR 1300 2007up (FH 012AA) if you want to upgrade the system.

    Lithium battery

Modern Li batteries do have overcharging protection and BMS. Problem with stadard chargers are that they use pulse-charging to service the old lead batteries - and that kills Li batteries. At least thats what I have been told. Riding my cheapy Li battery now 500kms, working smooth.

    Lithium battery

Specification of my Li Battery is not to charge it over 14,7V which actually never happens with stock stuff. The battery I bought (and I guess thats valid for all up to date Li-batteries) has a BMS to avoid overcharging and too low load. The one I bought is for sure no rocket science, just a...

    Lithium battery

I gave a Li- battery a chance since my AGM battery was jsut 2 years old and failed to start my Max when engine was warm. I really took care on the AGM during the renovation period, still when the rear cylinders heated up the battery - ****. I could not re-start the bike after refueling, for...

    LED headlight conversion '99 Max

I told you, if you insist to win every discussion, I admit you have won. And I see endless motorbikes. And endless types of Ford or Mercedes. You dont know whats on the road here. Maybe it might be better in a year or 2. But still none of motorbikes.... Lets leave it at that point. You won.

    LED headlight conversion '99 Max

Exactly. for some, few cars. Less than 10% of those on the roads. Osram offers more permissions. Chinese LED's none. since reflectors and headlights are different, it will never be E-marked. Not within the next 5 years at least, then there is a new regulation in planning stage. Remember: not...

    LED headlight conversion '99 Max

Since I was working in FL a couple of years ago, I can easily imagine that our local regulations will sound strange to our American friends. Even to Southern EC countries... German motorcyclists pay for their "no-speed limit" freedom, Austrian and Swiss bikers pay for their unique environment...
