Cannot rev past 6500 RPM under load

Since you got the "scrap yard" markings on the CDI then I think the previous owner already tried that out. Other thing, running with headers only, the Harley boys do that all the time. Naturally in your case it would be only temporary to rule out possible reasons of misbehavior. Other thing...

Cannot rev past 6500 RPM under load

Based on the information you provided, first thing that I'd do is to check the silencers whether they are clogged or not. Ride the bike with open exhaust. After that, check valve clearance and more importantly, cam timing. Sounds like your timing could have slipped.

    Rebuild or engine swap?

It was late January last year in Austin, TX that I experienced sub-zero rain. The whole city became an ice rink in one night and you won't believe the number of collisions.

    Joint leak on thermostat pipe

As long as all your surfaces are good and there's no cracks then the o-rings are the culprit. Oversize will do it. AC o-rings can be used too. They have different sizes than conventional ones. If even that does not work there's always gasket maker silicone.

    ! HELP ! 2001 vmax exhaust headers???

Really good looking set. I like the symmetry and style. Silencers look good too. How's the sound?

    ! HELP ! 2001 vmax exhaust headers???

Nothing wrong with being loud as long as it matches true performance. Nothing more ridiculous than a machine of any kind that makes a ton of noise and moves like a snail. That reminds me of VW Bugs in the early Eighties, lots of bark and no bite.

    ! HELP ! 2001 vmax exhaust headers???

As another weird example, Hindle Performance exhaust has separate header inlets with spring-attached main header tubes. These tubes are all different, being a 4 - 1 system. The quirky part is the header inlets that bolt to the heads, there are two different lengths of these. It still is a good...

    ! HELP ! 2001 vmax exhaust headers???

Do you see any markings on them? If you put the header tube section on it's side on the table, is it flat all the way?

    Rebuild or engine swap?

FireMedic is on point. Timbox, your crossbrace looks like it wont have a chance. I'm not talking about a crash, more like a hard curve on the road while riding hard where that thing cracks and your bike goes into death wobble. I've been welding with all possible equipment for over 30 years and...

    Rebuild or engine swap?

Something is seriously wrong with your parts or their locations. Seeing the front crosstube like that is nowhere close to how it is supposed to be. I'm sure you know that. How bout you level the bike and measure the frame for being straight. Or see if your engine is later model and frame is...

    EFI conversion on a Gen-1

Other thing with open loop is that throttle response programming requires you to understand certain definitions of the dimension of fueling vs air vs time. Over-airing (big TBs or carbs) mean aggressive over-fueling to create the intended result, simplified. Best results up-high compromise the...

    EFI conversion on a Gen-1

If you lean it out more, my quess is that the situation worsens. Take an IR gun to see the exhaust temps right where the exh tube begin before the first turns to get consistent results. Make sure you measure from spots of equal material thickness and surface.

    EFI conversion on a Gen-1

You are targeting leanest possible clearly. Your cylinder temps vary. You need to compensate with extra fuel. Running a bit on the rich side clears things out and whether you want to stay on top of it then that is exactly what open/closed loop is about. An engine is not a human heart, it cannot...

    EFI conversion on a Gen-1

Have you tuned AF independently on the cylinders or all the same? They are not the same. I've used independent O2 sensors and independent exh Temps. Your problem seems to be only one cylinder based on that video.

    Buying a v max

Why do you consider age a thing here? If you got the health and the money go take a look at one and buy it if you like it. If someone is scared of the power then your right wrist is there to control it. This is not complicated unless your wife tells you so. You are the only one who cares in the end.

    Rebuild or engine swap?

What they said. To me, the concept of removing the engine from a Vmax is more likely removing the frame and stuff from the engine. It is not difficult. You can make it difficult for yourself but don't over think it.

    Charging issues

Go to your local civil aviation clubs and airfields. A mechanic might hook you up with local products. It will not be cheap so do your calculations what is better bang for your buck.

    Charging issues

I've mostly used aviation products since I have a pipeline for that. Their requirements are high so that line of products is very dependable. There's lots of similar products available in other lines of industries. You are talking about heat conductivity paste. I'm talking about electric...
