    1st Gen V-Max My 2001 VMax

Thank you CYA, the look of the bike, what I wanted, was clear from the start. It was really interesting to build it. I wet-sandblasted the engine with a pressure washer and an auxiliary kit made for that. Then I coated it with WD-40 and the engine heat bakes it in. Stays clean. Black anodizing...

    Gen 2 Engine Development begins

I have not read through this entire thread. Besides oversizing the engine, which parts are you designing and building new, never seen before? Heads? Which parts are existing aftermarket or OEM?

    Speedometer calibration

Would it be an option to print a new face to the speedo, glue it in on top of old one? I've got no speedo, I have measured gps speed to corresponding rpms in highest gear.

    Parts For Sale Supertrapps

I'm almost wishing I didn't have my exhaust done the way I fabbed them. Otherwise I'd be all over these.

    Ticking sound

That video (audio) doesn't really reveal anything out of the ordinary to my ears. However if you do hear ticking in #3 then the obvious reason is excess valve lash. You could pull the cover off (not fun) and measure the lash. While in there check the other side too, compare to each other and...

    No vmax choppers?

All very beautiful bikes. I have only one problem with bikes that are built very low, once you put the rider on top of one, the rider sticks up or out so much that the combination just looks off. I prefer bikes that look great combined with the rider.

Where would you go, if conditions were right?

That's a good line for the cops. "It wasn't me officer, it was the bike doing one-forty, I was just a passenger" 😁😁😁

Where would you go, if conditions were right?

Two stops in 625 miles? Maaan, I couldn't do that. I would not have a butt to sit on BCS it fell on the ground on the way 😁

8th Annual rally in the Smokies August 24-27th

I lived along Bandera Rd for few weeks. I'd love to know their meet schedule. Been to the town of Bandera few times too. Beautiful road.

My 2nd Gen Is Having Carb Issues!

I'd look into the TPS and fuel filter first. More likely the TPS.

8th Annual rally in the Smokies August 24-27th

Too much of a trek for me to do during a weekend, 1100 miles one way. Wish there was a Vmax meeting closer by to San Antonio. Hope I'd had more days off.

    Know your mechanic

I'm in San Antonio, TX. It is safe to say that I'm quite knowledgeable even if I say it myself. If there's something you need, send me a PM. I've got a day job so available only on weekends. Bring your own parts. I don't do anything basic like oil changes or tire changes. You've got other places...

    2nd to 3rd issue

Try to snap the gear in faster than your average. Faster movement in the foot, more aggressive. Normal clutch operation.

    No vmax choppers?

If you go with solid rear then a passenger car tire is actually a good idea with very low pressure to run it. That way the bike is not going to destroy your spine and discs.

    No vmax choppers?

My bike is very Harley-like and I don't care what Harley riders think. If they like it, good but I'm not gonna loose a second of sleep if someone hates it. My best friend here in the States rides a Harley and he loves my bike. Do whatever you want to do, it's your bike. I'd love to see photos...

Where would you go, if conditions were right?

Another place is Norway. The fjords in the south all the way up to Lofoten. And New Zealand of course. These two countries have everything a motorcycle rider could want. Best sceneries in the world.

Where would you go, if conditions were right?

Boulder Creek, CA using old Highway 9 from San Jose. Then continue to Santa Cruz and to Highway 1 towards San Francisco. Most enjoyable roads, very beautiful, mountains, the Pacific etc.
