Motorycle For Sale SOLD - 1985 (1st year #444) Vmax For Sale New Pics/Video Link Price Drop $4000.00

I've seen it drop several times and said nothing. I only mention it now because I told you exactly where you'd wind and that your price was completely unrealistic and you got completely bent out of shape and acted like a complete *******.

    Mirrors

They're not stamped. I still have my factory mirrors boxed up in the garage for if I ever sell it so I can put it back to exact factory spec. I didn't really like them because of where they're located. No matter how you adjust them, you wind up seeing more of your chest than you do the road...

    Idle drops when hot

Anybody that told you "just live with the mileage" when you're reeking of gas as you sit there idling and lost nearly a gallon per tank compared to every other gen 1 Vmax on the road has absolutely ZERO credibility of any kind. You could have done the job yourself blindfolded and been better...

    PC 680

I just got mine a couple months ago. First one I've ever used. I sure hope I get the same results you guys did. That would be epic.

    Speedo took a crap

You really should check out Morley's Muscle. @one2dmax has a whole lot of options on speedometers. Email him and he'll no doubt send you some options.

    Idle drops when hot

You're getting 68 miles per tank. You are literally draining nearly a gallon of gas either onto the pavement, which you would no doubt see, or into your engine. Whoever did the "professional" tune has more than one bat in his belfry if that's the result you're actually getting.

    Idle drops when hot

That is simply horrific on a grand scale. A colder engine uses more gas, a hot one uses less. When you're running as rich as you are, and you must be running GOD AWFUL rich, the hotter it gets the worse your engine will suffer. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised that what's actually...

GLOBAL WAR ON COBRAS, Part Deux

Again, that is the problem: there is NO design. They are literally just straight, large pipes. Absolutely ZERO thought was put into making them tuned. That's how exhaust works: it is made to precise specifications based on the amount of flow the engine produces and how much back pressure is...

GLOBAL WAR ON COBRAS, Part Deux

You will live to regret that decision; not so much for the ridiculous loss of power and very poor gas mileage, but more for the "you will run so rich you will smell like you bathed in gasoline 5 minutes after you get on it" aspect. What's more, if you ever are unfortunate enough to get stuck in...

Brass Metal shavings on top of the piston

The only thing I can think of that is brass that could have wound up down there is somebody was messing with the carbs while they were sitting on the bike and dropped a jet or something down the intake manifold. There is one other possibility but I highly doubt it: If memory serves, the valve...

    Fuel out of overflow hose

Should be engraved on the side of every Vmax.

    Fuel out of overflow hose

Stuck float. You can try knocking on the side of the fuel bowl with a plastic hammer or the grip of a screwdriver or something to unlodge it. If that doesn't work you'll have to pull the cover and reset it.

    Clutch issues! (Mini-vmax)

Same system we have. In fact, some of the 6 piston Sumitomo calipers Sean sells come from them. It's the only mod I have on my bike.

    hello from France

Ahhhh Lorient. Home of one of the biggest WWII German submarine bases of the war. We bombed the hell out of it and it's still there. Bienvenue à bord mon ami!

    Rotor resurface/cleaning

Again, NOT advisable. You'll in all likelihood do far more damage trying to sand it smooth than simply letting the new pads wear in. After all, you have no way at all of being even remotely precise.

    Rotor resurface/cleaning

Buy a new one. It's 50 bucks. Other than that, you're better off leaving it alone and letting the new pad wear into it.

    How to quiet my exhaust

Those are UFO's, which are pretty old. They're now done by Star Rider Performance. https://starriderperformance.com/ You need to contact them and see if there is something they can do for you. They should be able to make you a new baffle to quiet them down a bit or send you the packing...

    Charging issue

When you test your stator, what you should be doing is putting one electrode on one of the stator wires and then putting the other electrode on either of the other two wires. Then just work your way around testing the other two. That reading should be between .1 and .132 on all of them.
