    Charging issue

You're good. Should read from .1 to .132.

    One cylinder running rich

Running that rich sounds like a high float level to the point gas is just pouring in.

Exhaust, Spark plugs, front shocks QUESTIONS

This is important. (I had totally forgotten about the progressive spring package). This is why I was saying "wait until you tear them down before ordering anything". If it turns out you just needed air pressure, cool. No worries. But if you do in fact need new seals, and you're going to wind...

Exhaust, Spark plugs, front shocks QUESTIONS

I wouldn't run it without the exhaust for 2 reasons: 1. It's illegal and you can be cited for it. 2. It will make your bad plug situation even worse. As for the seals that depends on your forks condition. You'll have to take them apart to find out what shape they're actually in. If they're...

    Clutch issues! (Mini-vmax)

The ones that actually look similar to the Vmax do. I think it's the newer style that didn't.

    Restoration help

Again, you'll get no more out of it. You'll only lose money you put into it. If you sell it as is you'll make the most for your charity. Whoever buys it will be buying it to fix it and keep it, not try to flip it for money which simply CAN NOT BE DONE on a bike that old, that out of date and...

    Clutch issues! (Mini-vmax)

The Fazer covers so many years I can't recall if all of them have hydraulic clutches or not. If they do, I'm wondering if you might just have a bit of air in the system that's preventing a complete lockup of the clutch plates at higher RPM, or possibly a slightly worn push rod if it's that old...

You're WAY over thinking it. Just do the clutch slave. You'll be fine.

    fork Gaiters or covers

You didn't mention the year in your post. I assumed it was a later model. My bad. I would buy the Yamaha guards then. They look a ton better because you don't notice them and do the job. Here they are on mine:

    Restoration help

My real, heartfelt advice: don't bother. You'll spend far more money trying to restore it than you will EVER get out of it. Your clutch slave cylinder is bad and needs to be rebuilt. There are instructions on this site. It's not hard to do at all and will cost you about 40 dollars. (Forgive me...

    fork Gaiters or covers

Then you don't need those. Waste of time, effort and money. The guards you already have protect the travel length of the forks.

    fork Gaiters or covers

Touring or off road? Reason I ask: that's an off road mod. If you look at your forks, you'll see there's a protective ledge already on the forks that prevents damage to the travel area of the forks. Unless you're planning on going off road to where your forks are going to travel 5 inches...

New bike (2007) Header question, and shock question

Pal, you are absolutely desperate to cure the incurable. From the other thread: Constantly looking for help with Cobra pipes is an exercise in futility. There is NO HOPE for them. They ruin your bike in every way except looks. You can not tune a pipe that was never tuned to begin with. Cobra...

    Champion = Best Spark Plug

Pal, if you are still running the Cobra pipes, there is nothing - REPEAT: NOTHING - you can do to sort that out. It will run rich, foul plugs and perform like **** forever. The only possible fix is to get rid of those **** pipes.

New bike (2007) Header question, and shock question

Cobras are awful. There is no such thing as tuning them. They are complete garbage and should never be used on a running Vmax. In a museum, not running ever again, sure. They look fantastic.

What kind of aftermarket rear shocks are you running?

It does. Makes a pretty big difference. I typically run it at 3, but if I'm going on a long road trip, which is very rare these days, I'll drop it to 1 for a smoother ride. Then again, I only weigh 185 pounds, so your mileage may vary with those settings.

Motorycle For Sale Vmax 4 wheeler

Reminds me of the mid 80's when we put a 327 Chevy in a 70 Super Beetle (at the front, had to cut vents in the hood for cooling and use a slanted Corvette radiator). Any time he'd start that thing up people jumped. You just didn't expect the little Beetle to roar like an SS Impala.

Fuel Leak Part II - Completely stumped.

Yesterday was the final once over and then wash and wax day. Here she is this morning before I headed out. Not too shabby for a 17 year old bike.
